People from Macaracuay, I am told, go mostly to El Cafetal or Chuao for their routine stuff even if it means driving half an hour in traffic.

Driving isn't a big deal in Venezuela because gas prices are $0.08 a gallon, meaning that the government subsidizes rather than taxes it to the tune of almost $2 a gallon.
