Auditing with the stars.
A new Senate report is filled with details from Lois Lerners e-mails - and we havent even really gotten to the ones that were claimed lost but have now been found. Apparently she ran quite the dysfunctional operation, and she had a penchant for seeking a lot of feedback from her underlings about whether a particular political target should be put in the crosshairs.
One target who had Lerners attention, but who apparently didnt strike her team as such a wise focus of attention, was none other than Bristol Palin - friend of ours and favorite object of the lefts venom:
One email, cited by Chairman Orrin Hatch as an example of Lerners interest in conservative organizations, asked whether the IRS should open an audit of Candies Foundation, which paid Palin $332,500 in compensation to be a celebrity spokesperson. Lerner was concerned that the salary figure could violate IRS rules against charitable groups being for the private benefit of individuals.
They must have LOVED this [rhymes with witch] in the White Hut
Lois Lerner needs to be in jail, NOW.
“paid Palin $332,500 in compensation”
Uh, this ain’t part of the solution. It’s part of the problem.
Not to give Lerner a pass, but I can’t recall where in the Constitution it says that Republican as well as Democrat-associated persons with no discernible talents or skills have an inalienable right, endowed by the Creator, to make hundreds of thousands of dollars for doing nothing provided they are members of the political class, or at least hangers-on.
How can this be? This is not Soviet Russia, right? How can someone high up in the IRS target minor political players, and do it with impunity? I thought the IRS was supposed to be impartial, fair etc.
If Lois Lerner does not go to jail for this, there is no justice. If you think this is ok, then wait until you tick someone off, and they come for you.
The Constitution protects rights, granted by the Creator.
The Constitution does not give rights.
Therefore, your point is not really applicable.
Agree 100 per cent. However, they all do it from Billy Carter to Clinton's brother, Obamas brother, Colin Powell's son, James Clyburn's FCC Chairwoman daughter, etc.
Hangers on to politicians and family members prosper.
Tar and feather on the mall.
In what kind of distorted reference to the Constitution do you come up with that nonsense? It’s not part of any problem. It’s called freedom.
Obama is the one who gave the orders to the IRS
It’s obama’s IRS
Lerner and Obama must be prosecuted
Stalin is proud of his peeps.
I believe this is an example of why Sarah never ran.
The establishment was threatening her family...
Senator Beauregard Claghorn of Charleston, South Carolina, explained it in about four words.
But I do find it rather troubling that the line between serious political discourse and infotainment, between free enterprise and corruption, between gravity and frivolity, has sort of been boiled down to “can we make a quick buck off of it?”
