Related question, does anyone know where to get an Appeal to Heaven flag that is “double-sided,” that is, where the letter is correct on both sides instead of backwards on the reverse side?

Is that what the plant drawing symbolizes? At first glance, it looks like a rough lined drawing of an Elm leaf. I used to see dozens of very old Elms back in Michigan, and you could set your calendar by the color or condition of their leaves.
I think the same feeling of ‘Appeal to Heaven’ could be achieved by showing a pair of upraised open palms, fingertips slightly cupped.

I just used my considerable Google-fu skills on your behalf: Note I excluded “An” appeal to heaven.
The underlying meeting is lost to me.

I was always under the impression that the original flag said "An appeal to heaven," on it and had a pine tree under the lettering.

Thanks. Every body was Google-Fu fighting, those keystrokes were fast as lightning, in fact it was a little bit frightening!

I got mine from anyflag.com (years ago). I checked - and they still carry it.
Seems like they dropped the Confederate 'battle flag', though (they have a few versions - but not the now slandered version). Too bad they caved to PC-dom.

no the original letter from stephan glover has the motto “appeal to heaven” verbs as apposed to “an appeal” noun and the shape was just a pyramid not really a tree.

Got it - I missed your original comment that you didn’t want the “an”. I did not know the original was “an-less”. Learned something new.
