They are dogs. How can it be so hard to find them new homes? Only the government can screw up something so bad as to make a loyal working dog homeless. There are literally hundreds of millions of Americans that would gladly welcome a retired service dog in to their homes.

Can’t blame this one on the US government.

The article stated the Department of Defense sold the dogs to a contractor and put them at the gentleman’s kennel, then left them there. He probably had the right to drop the dogs at a local shelter or resell them but elected not to do so.

It appears after 17 months they are going to their former handlers or put up for adoption to general public.

declare them all chihuahuas and they will get free healthcare, housing and the "right" to vote.
