Its old news that Jimmy Carter believes Jesus would support gay marriage and some abortion. But Fox News? Well, Carter doesnt like that.
Earlier this week, NY Times reporter Philip Galanes sat down for lunch with the former president and black author Jacqueline Woodson to discuss issues of race and religion, including the confederate flag, black-white relations and same-sex marriage.
Galanes pointed out that both Carter and Woodson went door to door as Christian missionaries when they were younger. Woodson went as a Jehovahs Witness, but no longer practices.
Galanes understood. Theyre not so hot on gay and lesbian issues, he posited.
But I still consider myself a Christian, Woodson who is lesbian responded. I deeply believe in many Christian values: love people; do the right thing; know that theres good in everyone, that Gods looking out for all of us. Sounds like Woodson is picking and choosing what parts of Christianity she likes.

No, there wasnt, Jimmy, and you messed it up anyway.
Dear God, I lived through his 4 year travesity; thanks for the memories, Jimmah.
Back then he likely would have been impeached for buffoonery by a still educated electorate...
There also wasn’t a president back when he was president.
Yeah, you might not have gotten elected.
Yeah, it would have been pretty tough with someone reporting the truth.
And more lucky that there was no Internet.
She was news.
Well fortunately for you, carter, there’s still a NYT to fudge your book sales numbers putting you ahead of Cruz as if THAT could possibly be true
And they still have the readership that’ll by that McConnell level lie
And FR was still in its infancy. We were posting on 80 column cards in those days.
It didn’t matter, the press that was there still beat you up. Besides that, people took elections a bit more seriously as it affected their pocketbook.
I have to say that back then the MSM wasn’t quite as liberal and I remember them going after Carter pretty hard.
Fannie Fox, AKA the Argentine Firecracker. I remember her cavorting with House Ways and Means Chairman Wilbur Mills in the Capitol fountain. Sigh, those were the days.
yup- carter is the reason i am a conservative today...
>>”Carter, in a one-liner that could take Twitter by storm, quipped: Fortunately, there was no Fox News when I was president.”<<
Not in 1979, but there was a Jimmy Carter interview with Fox News in 2005; about Jimmy’s religious views and his “born again Christian” values... Read on:

What a dolt. But also fortunately for him, most of the TV news actually reported news when he was president. Now they just pander for left wing causes.
Didn’t Jimmah’s mother express regret over not ... drowning him?
And JEB’s Mom has warned us off him. A mother knows these things.
Jimmuh, if there were a Fox News back then, you’d never have gotten past the status of peanut farmer.
STFU and die already. You’ve sucked far more than your share of oxygen, cretin.
He’s at least part of the reason there is a Fox News today.
