They can’t look away. They’re addicted to ratings and he represents ratings. They hate him but need him.

Post poll that shows Donald Trump opening up a big lead among Republican presidential contenders, pulling 24 percent of respondents compared with second-place Scott Walker’s 13 percent.

Ha.....13 X 1.7 = 22.1

So Trump at 24 % is outside the viable attack range of Scott Walker.

If Trump keeps this up....and there is no reason to believe otherwise ...he has it in a runaway.

The fact that he is at least giving lip service to what the people care about and the uniparty ignores may have something to do with why he is leading as well.

But what?

That is the mystery!

He’s leading because he’s on target on the issues. And it doesn’t hurt that he knows how to handle the media.

The news media are trying to demonize Trump as they did to Sarah Palin.

But Trump so far is winning.

The news media will destroy anyone that is not a democrat/marxist.

Who is the press to determine who is a real candidate or not? That is the $1mm question.

The line "I just have to look good, I don't have to be clear" sounds more prescient with every passing year.

All the major organs of power in our society - government, MSM, and academia - have been taken over by clueless morons who look good on television.

This leaves the system in an "unlikely state," what physicists would cause a "population inversion," with dummies on top and the majority of intelligent people frozen out, wondering how they can break into the cockpit to pull the plane out of its dive.

This is what Donald Trump is tapping into. When you have a population inversion, it only takes a small perturbation to set off a chain reaction.

Trump is leading because he has tapped into the anger of millions of right-thinking Americans who are fed up and like his belligerent attitude. They wish their elected leaders had fight in them like he does.

They won’t vote for a hot-headed egomaniac for President, but he’s fun to watch early on.

And that’s exactly why he’s leading the race at the moment. He’s playing them like a fiddle.

Trump has something that most candidates, especially republicans are sorely lacking. Salesmanship. Trump knows how publicity works. He is an amazing promoter and he could win it all. My only concern is that promoters rarely make good managers.

Trump is showing that he is far smarter than the ‘journalist’ and pundit classes. Unlike them, he has actually been a producer. His accomplishments send them into writs of fealous jage. And the fact that he is a little rough around the edges.........

I agree that he is indeed playing the media like a fiddle; which actually proves his intelligence. All really successful Conservatives have to master the technique. (Not absolutely sure how completely conservative Trump is, but he has the intelligence to recognize truth. May I suggest that we, who are truly Conservative, use our own savvy to move him in that direction. His full conversion would be a major asset, whether or not he wins the nomination.)

I'm not sure Trump is playing anyone.
He's just saying what needed to be said....
And people responded.....

Trump is the wrecking ball of PC icons.

Every polictical whore who has sought his support is now getting gorged.

Trump has had to fill their wallets for 30 years, to keep from getting an IRS audit or a project shut down.

Carly Fiorina may be the only one standing without a bucket of mud on her head when this is done. I cant see him going after her, and I cant see her attacking anyone but Hillary.

I think the early campaign absolutely played the media like a fiddle - nahh, like a full orchestra. They thought that they'd banter about all these ‘horrible racist comments’ and the public would immediately shun Trump.

That didn't happen.

Now they are limiting their reporting to the zingers going back and forth - I think everyone loves a fighter, so not sure how well this concept is going to go over on the voters, but the shame of it is that rather than getting actual campaign issues out in front of the voters, it's he said, he said.

I think that Trump needs to keep the media focused on the issues, but short of curtailing any replies to attacks on him, I'm not sure how he's going to do it. Guess any coverage is good coverage, but boy is it frustrating.
