Donald Trump returns disrespect to McCain, but goes a bit too far for some...
Zacchaeus Zombro Speaks... ^ | July 18, 2015 | Zacchaeus Zombro

Before I get to the surprising statement on religion made by Donald Trump today, allow me to discuss what everyone is talking about, and that's Donald Trump's thoughts on John McCain's war record.

Male pride and bravado can be a terrible thing. I think an example of that was seen in the recent Family Leadership Summit in Ames, Iowa. Donald Trump was being interviewed on stage by pollster Frank Luntz who spoke about John McCain and mentioned that Senator McCain was a war hero. That is when Donald Trump figuratively stepped into it, the pit that is sometimes his open mouth.

Now, what he said, his unkind words toward an American veteran who happens to be an absolutely terrible liberal politician, were uncalled for. Donald Trump said he did not consider John McCain a war hero. "He was only a war hero because he was captured," said the Donald. He did relent and went on to say at the end of the exchange with Frank Luntz, "Perhaps he's a hero," referring to John McCain.

But why would Donald Trump, who once raised $1,000,000 for John McCain's presidential bid, say such an unkind remark about the senator? Well, it seems to have started with John McCain himself. Senator McCain was not happy that Donald Trump took his brand of anti-immigrant conservatism to his home state of Arizona. In a rally in Phoenix July 11th, Trump spoke to supporters about illegal immigration, outlining what he would do to stop the flow of illegal aliens into the country through states like Texas, California and especially Arizona. When later asked about the Phoenix rally by reporter Ryan Lizza, McCain said that Donald Trump had gone to his home state and stirred up the "crazies."

So that's what Trump supporters are? More specificially, that's what....

Simply knowing Trump's tendency to say things off the cuff, I was more surprised about what Trump said on God, than what he said about McCain.

McCain is just slinging pablum, as usual, while Trump is tossing hand grenades. Mostly BS on both sides, but fun to watch...and it sells newspapers!!

I still respect Trump—he pulls no punches. Lots of great men were captured. The French held Washington once! Papa Boyington, American Ace, was captured by the Japanese. That being said—McCain needs a smack down—for the way he talks and how he has treated the Tea Party and the Vets. Brash, Trump takes no prisoners.

“But why would Donald Trump, who once raised $1,000,000 for John McCain’s presidential bid, say such an unkind remark about the senator?”

Donald earlier explained his contributions over the years to various politicians, saying that he needed their help at the time. Is there any other reason why someone gives a big donation to a politician?

For the political decisions AND statements McCain has made, Trump did not go nearly far enough.

The True Military Record of John McCain Written by an Active Marine

THE TRUE MILITARY RECORD OF JOHN MCCAIN WRITTEN BY AN ACTIVE MARINE.
9/03/08

McCain has never really earned anything. He is from a wealth pampered background and not fit to lead this nation.

A “war hero” doesn’t finished 894th out of 899 and still get stationed at a Navy champagne unit and promoted ahead of all but two of his 898 other classmates.

A “war hero” doesn’t crash three U.S. Navy jets out of sheer incompetence and ineptitude, including two during non-combat training sessions.

A “war hero” doesn’t get written up on drunk-and-disorderly, fraternization, disobeying orders, and insubordination charges more than two dozen times in less than three years.
A “war hero” doesn’t get promoted to squadron commander of the air field named after his own grandfather immediately after crashing his third airplane. A “war hero” doesn’t have all the military records that cover his time in Vietnam and all disciplinary actions against him censored and sealed “as a matte r of national security.” A “war hero” doesn’t get 28 medals awarded all after-the-fact “for bravery” for no other reason than being shot down and captured and then go on a celebrity public relations tour because he’s the son of two acclaimed Navy admirals. A “war hero” doesn’t repeatedly cheat on the wife who’s back in the states waiting for him, and then cheat on her more when he returns to the states, and then divorce and abandon her.
A “war hero” doesn’t systematically vote against every single pay and benefit increase for military and veterans throughout his entire political career, all the while claiming to be “the soldier’s Congressman,” and then take credit for the passage of a G.I. benefits bill he that voted AGAINST. A “war hero” McCain III lost jet number one in 1958 when he plunged into Corpus Christi Bay while practicing landings. He was knocked unconscious by the impact coming to as the plane settled to the bottom. McCain’s second crash occurred while he was deployed in the Mediterranean. “Flying too low over the Iberian Peninsula,” Timberg wrote, “he took out some power lines [reminiscent of the 1998 incident in which a Marine Corps jet sliced through the cables of a gondola at an Italian ski resort, killing 20] which led to a spate of newspaper stories in which he was predictably identified as the son of an admiral.”
McCain’s third crash three occurred when he was returning from flying a Navy trainer solo to Philadelphia for an Army-Navy football game. Timberg reported that McCain radioed, “I’ve got a flameout” and went through standard relight procedures three times before ejecting at one thousand feet. McCain landed on a deserted beach moments before the plane slammed into a clump of trees. McCain’s fifth loss happened during his 23rd mission over North Vietnam on Oct. 26, 1967, when McCain’s A-4 Skyhawk was shot down by a surface-to-air missile. McCain ejected from the plane breaking both arms an d a leg in the process and subsequently parachuted into Truc Bach Lake near Hanoi. For 23 combat missions (an estimated 20 hours over enemy territory), the U.S. Navy awarded McCain a Silver Star, a Legion of Merit for Valor, a Distinguished Flying Cross, three Bronze Stars, two Commendation medals plus two Purple Hearts and a dozen service medals. “McCain had roughly 20 hours in combat,” explains Bill Bell, a veteran of Vietnam and former chief of the U.S. Office for POW/MIA Affairs — the first official U.S. representative in Vietnam since the 1973 fall of Saigon. “Since McCain got 28 medals,” Bell continues, “that equals out to about a medal-and-a-half for each hour he spent in combat. There were infantry guys — grunts on the ground — who had more than 7,000 hours in combat and I can tell you that there were times and situations where I’m sure a prison cell would have looked pretty good to them by comparison
The question really is how many guys got that number of medals for not being shot down.” For years, McCain has been an unchecked master at manipulating an overly friendly and biased news media. The former POW turned Congressman, turned U.S. Senator, has managed to gloss over his failures as a pilot by exaggerating his military service and lying about his feats of heroism. McCain has sprouted a halo and wings to become America’s POW-hero presidential candidate.
This article was written by an active, unnamed Marine. It was published by Gale Toensing founder of the Corner Report.com and she sent it to me. It is a true account of McCain’s real war record and evidence of his lack of fitness for the office of President.

McCain is a real sick jackass and was an opportunist who took America. He was trash of the worst kind and an insult to the real Americans that served.

“Donald Trump ... goes a bit too far for some”

Sounds like a Brian Williams talking head weaseling us, using their old trick of giving the left’s position as fact with “Some say ...”.
Screw this guy. My cow died so I don’t need his tired bull.
You may disagree with Trump, but he’s not pussyfooting around.

Your boy McCain started it by saying Trump had 15,000 Crazies supporters.

This is the same McCain that betrayed his fellow P.O.W. and collaborated with Communist North Vietnam. The same McCain that left P.O.W.s behind in Vietnam in order to hide his collaboration with the Communist in North Vietnam. This is the same McCain that was part of the Keating Five. This is the same John McCain that met with and supports ISIS. This is also the same McCain that crashed 5 U.S. Navy Jets.

Oh but Trump went to far exposing facts about McCain.......... vs. McCain that says lies about Trump’s supporters?

That’s is CULT LIKE THINKING to ignore McCain’s attack, and then attack Trump for exposing McCain.

It’s same CULT LIKE THINKING, that wants to ban General Lee and the Confederate flag for the shooting in Charleston, but then at the very same time want to not even blame radical Islam for the shooting in Chattanooga. That’s cult like behavior.

the same McCain that wouldn’t bring up Farakhan or Rev. Wright, or even mention Bill Ayres?

The same McCain who toyed with the Idea of endorsing John ‘THE HERO” Kerry

I hope Trump outs Keating Boy. Keating boy sought his whole career to cover up by being Anti Lobbiest while being the biggest supporter of weapons systems we don’t need.

FACT CHECK TRUMP VS. MCCAIN
Probably time for a review and some much needed FACT CHECKING!
If you still don’t believe the lapdog MSM is out to gut Trump, here’s another example of their typical yellow “journalism”.

So over the last day or so, I’ve read many comments both supporting what Trump said and those who suggested that Trump ‘went too far’. Some of this is just semantics….. after, what is the definition of what a hero is? It has to be one of the most misused words in the English language, no? And if people are not on the same page as far as their language and basic terms, then debate and comment is pointless, no?

Let me suggest the following definition of ‘hero’ and folks can provide their thoughts, add and subtract to, modify it and so on…… and once we all have an agreed to definition of what a hero is, folks can comment on what Trump said.

Oxford dictionary says that a hero is a “A person, typically a man, who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities:” Really?....This seems like a much different definition of what I recollect the definition being ….in fact, it seems like it has been ‘downgraded’ from what I recollect and is as often said, once the bar is set low, everyone can claim the status. Let me suggest the following criteria that form a test of what all must be met for someone to claim ‘hero status’:

- Someone who has performed a specific act of bravery or courage that has gone well beyond the norm or call of duty of what someone would be expected to perform.
- The decision to perform the courageous and brave act in question was a choice….. this excludes all those who might have been ordered by others to perform the act in question or those who essentially were thrust into the situation on a ‘there is no other choice’ basis.
- The specific act in question required that the individual put his/her life and limb on the line and at extreme peril.
- The specific act in question was performed in a selfless fashion…. when the individual decided to perform the act, there was no suggestion that he/she could/would obtain some form of future benefit from it.
- The specific act in question was performed for someone else who would have encountered a disastrous consequence if the act had not been carried out. This excludes all these acts that may have been quite brave and courageous but were performed for silly or inconsequential reasons. A possible exception are those acts performed which do not involve a person but something very precious like a dog.
- A hero can only be named as such by peers who theoretically could have been put in the same situation…. and if a person ever names him/herself as a hero, he/she is automatically excluded.
- Other criteria?

Thoughts?

After another day of responding to this, Trump just needs to say to any further questions on the subject:

“Enough is enough. I’ve already responded to this. Check my previous answers if you want to know where I stand. I’m not going to allow you to obsess over this one issue in order to hi-jack my campaign from talking about the important issues that really matter to the people.”
