Yup, the press does always do this.

Trump is funny and that plays very well in politics. I think he inherited Joan Rivers mountain of jokes that she kept on index cards :-)

Comedians keep a notebook and every time they think of something funny or hear something funny they write it down. Going through the book regularly keeps the items in mind to be delivered at just the right moment. I think Trump is probably doing something similar and that's how he preps for his speeches...much better technique than a teleprompter!

Remember how Reagan had them rolling in the aisles with his "youth and inexperience" crack at the debate...

Reagan was a very funny guy, always telling jokes and making wise-cracks... I see some of that in Trump.
