To the editor,
Anti-gay bigotry, like all other forms of prejudice, is never restrained by logic, fairness and common sense. Republicans gave examples of this with their reaction to the U.S. Supreme Court ruling legalizing gay marriage.
Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee said, The Supreme Court can no more repeal the laws of nature and natures God on marriage than it can the law of gravity. Gravity is a fact.
It is also a fact that some people were born with a stronger desire for those of the same sex. It is also a fact that many (I suspect most) straight people occasionally see someone of the same sex they think looks good enough to turn gay for, just as there are gay people who occasionally feel that way about someone of the opposite sex. It is a fact that some people are turned on by many people of both sexes. The lovers of the mayors wife were females before she fell in love with Bill de Blasio. So unlike gravity, heterosexuality is not something that effects humans 100 percent of the time.
Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal is supposed to be one of the most intelligent, well-educated and competent Republicans. Yet he said the courts ruling will pave the way for an all-out assault against the religious freedom rights of Christians who disagree. So by not allowing anti-gay marriage Christians to restrict other peoples freedom, you are restricting their freedom?
Sen. Ted Cruz was born in Canada but insists he can run for president even after numerous people in his own party falsely claimed President Barack Obama was not born in the United States and therefore could not be president. He said the ruling marked some of the darkest hours of our history. Really? Its right up there with 9/11, Pearl Harbor, the burning of the White House in the War of 1812 and the Civil War? Now I think Cruz becoming president would be up there with those events.
Whats even more outrageous is that these people call themselves conservatives. Conservatives are supposed to believe in keeping government off peoples backs. Yet they constantly use religion as a justification to do just the opposite.
Richard Warren
Yes, he writes like a Dick.
It is also a fact that some people were born with a stronger desire for those of the same sex. It is also a fact that many (I suspect most) straight people occasionally see someone of the same sex they think looks good enough to turn gay for, just as there are gay people who occasionally feel that way about someone of the opposite sex.
So dude’s a scientist too? Not...
Typical liberal equating lust with love and the sex act with marriage. When homosexuals can make children, they may meet nature’s requirements for marriage, but not until then.
If this turkey Richard Warren thinks people are born with a desire for any kind of sex I have to wonder if he’s ever actually met a baby in person. When an infant sees a boob it’s not thinking of sex, it’s thinking of food and sleeping in its parent’s arms. The hormones don’t kick in until later.
The sophistry sickness is really trying to turn viral, but with little suck-sess!!!
Good catch!!!
“So by not allowing anti-gay marriage Christians to restrict other peoples freedom, you are restricting their freedom?”
How disingenuous can one be? The issue is the infringement of those who conscientiously object to participating in or celebrating the perversion of “marriage”, i.e., Brendan Eich, former CEO of Mozilla, or the Christian bakers and florists that the gaystapo and their left wing banshees are exercising their hatred over. There’s also the little issue of the freedom of religious institutions to teach and practice their moral beliefs.
Instead of “Let them eat cake,” we now watch as government sanctifies faux marriage, so that they can say, “Let them have their marriage, even though it is counterfeit.”
Aren't there actual LAWS against that?
At least in CA and NY.
For the record, NO "most straight people" DON'T feel they could "turn gay" for someone of their gender who looks good.
