Sweet Cakes by Melissa raises more than $200,000 to cover fine by Oregon Gaystapo

Excellent.

Score one for the good guys, even if it’s only a partial victory. The State of Oregon has failed in its attempt to bankrupt Aaron and Melissa Klein for the crime of declining to bake a cake - as the preposterous $135,000 fine it levied was no match for the willingness of good people to help out the Kleins and their now exclusively online business, Sweet Cakes by Melissa. Through a campaign via Continue to Give, people who still respect both faith and freedom have responded to the following appeal by contributing more than $200,000: HTML5 video is not supported! Special: 74 Year Old Looks 35 Again, You Will Not Believe Her Simple Trick

Let’s help the Kleins through this hard time as they fight for religous freedom; which they are not just fighting for themselves but for all of us as our freedoms are threatened. They have been struggling financially ever since they were forced to close the doors of their bakery in 2013 as their income was basically cut in half. If they are forced to pay the damages to the lesbian couple they will be in much worse shape than they are now. They are pioneers in standing strong for the Lord and have been very courageous and steadfast throughout this whole ordeal. Please let’s rally around them to help ease the stress of everyday expenses and unexpected urgent needs. Thank you for your desire to help the Klein family, they will certainly appreciate it.

Paying the fine is the wrong thing to do.

Re: Canada Free Press news article posts -

What’s the offense to posting news articles from conservative Canada Free Press?

I find CF writers to be consistently conservative and contribute updates and understanding on matters important to conservatives.

Asking because I don’t understand ire directed toward the poster.

Thanks

Paying the fine is the wrong thing to do.

Exactly, use the money to appeal the fine all the way to the supreme court.

Paying the fine will only encourage the government to engage in further bad behavior.

Has the IRS gotten wind of this yet?

How stupid of me... of course.

Take a look at the posting history I provided.

You can note that all articles posted by this pimp are posted under "bloggers".

It is a bunch of no-name bloggers that re-write stories from elsewhere.
I see no need to pay a bunch of wankers for theft.

Here's where you can give,. I just threw in $20.

https://www.continuetogive.com/4811392//

They're keeping themselves out of jail, which is a GOOD thing; they're pushing an appeal, which is a BETTER thing. If they win the appeal they'll get their fines returned to them, I think.

They are fighting for us all. Yes, all.

$20 million in civil disobedience damage to stay property, directly tied to this fine would send a clearer signal to the state. Each religious persecution fine with result in 10x that in damage to state coffers. That, they would notice.

I wish they wouldn’t pay the fine. Imagine showing them being hauled off to jail. It would spark a revolution.

Much as I sympathize with the owners, I don’t know if I would want to donate just to end up enriching the corrupt state government.

A nice gesture, butt this doesn’t solve anything. The butt rangers will come right back for another round, and this time, doubling the fine.

I would never pay the fine and pack up and leave Aregone for ever. For a few years I drove from Seattle to L.A. on a regular bases. Every time I hit the border you could feel the darkness, sin and evil spirits. Asked my Rabbi and he told me to fly if I could. He said it was the darkest place he had ever been in.

You'll throw money at clownery like that?

Really? Twenty bucks for that?
