An Open Letter to Ted Cruz (Groan)
Blog Her ^ | July 6, 2015 | Laurelin Telperion

Posted on 07/06/2015 10:09:38 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Dear Ted Cruz,

As a taxpayer and constituent of yours in the state of Texas, I have one simple request: I would like to stop feeling afraid. You see, I am a woman, and I love another woman. Like you, I did not choose to be attracted to women. Like you, I married a woman that I love deeply and care about with my heart and soul. Unlike you, this has made me a target for hatred, vitriol, and state-sanctioned discrimination. Up until two weeks ago, my marriage, which was legally completed in New Mexico, a state which allowed same-sex marriage, and which was recognized by the federal government, was declared invalid in Texas. This meant that if I were to be hospitalized, my wife would have no right to visit me. It meant that if I died, my wife would not be considered my heir in Texas. Two weeks ago I rejoiced to hear the news that my marriage would no longer be considered second-class in Texas. I cried with joy. And then I cried with anger and frustration when I saw your response and the response of other Texas politicians.

Here’s the reality, Senator Cruz. I am a person; a real person with real feelings. And I deserve to live a life that is not ruled by fear. I deserve to be able to tell my boss and my coworkers about my marriage, but I don’t, because it is still legal in Texas for me to be fired because of my sexual orientation. I deserve to be able to hold hands with my wife in public, but I don’t dare to do so for my safety and hers. I am a free citizen of the United States living in a state that says it cares deeply for freedom, and yet I am terrified to put a Human Rights Campaign sticker on my car.

You can ask what this has to do with you. Well, when you refer to the day I celebrated my civil rights as the darkest 24 hours in US history, you imply that my happiness is part and parcel with the decline of the United States. You imply that by existing, my marriage is worse than Pearl Harbor and 9/11. You inflame the passions of everyday people for your own political gain, and the loser is me and all the people like me who live, not just in Texas, but in the US. I am writing to you because you are supposed to represent me in the government. I am writing to you because you claim you want people to feel safe in America. I am writing to you because you are my senator, and I am afraid.

Laurelin, in Tyler, TX

Ted Cruz believes it is a States Rights issue to decide what constitutes Marriage. The SCOTUS just eviscerated the Tenth Amendment and this Moron is “scared” of Ted Cruz?

He has NEVER said he is against Gay Marriage as a matter of Law. His personal beliefs have nothing to do with his Job.

She could give her gal pal her healthcare power of attorney, and make her her beneficiary in her will, without being "married" to her.

Those cake bakers in Oregon need to respond to this letter, They could teach her a thing or two about “hatred, vitriol, and state-sanctioned discrimination.”

Homos suck. She could always move to a fag/lesbo friendlier state. Isn’t that the point of federalism?

“Cannot explain, unless that victory isn’t what they want.”

They don’t want just a legal victory, they want you and me and everybody else to “celebrate” them to call them “heroes” to have parades in their honor.

And they’ve just come to the realization that like the abortionists “victory” this too will prove to be a hollow one.

She hasn’t a clue as to why Cruz called “the day I celebrated my civil rights as the darkest 24 hours in US history”. She has no idea how that decision eviscerated of the constitution and the rule of law.

What a whiner. If anyone has any reason to be afraid, be very afraid, it’s folks who don’t share in her joy.

Her and her ilk have an occupant in the White House who won’t be shy about using the power of the federal government to crush any opposition to them. Some states have that power as well, as some citizens have learned (the baker in Oregon, the photographer in New Mexico, the florist in Washington state and others).

The Lamestream Media, along with Hollyweird, uses its power to cast the illusion that her ilk are a larger group than they really are (according to the CDC) and, thanks to this power, they have the so-called “Millennials” or, as Freeper Buckeye McFrog referred to them, “Generation Text” solidly cheering them on.

Colleges and universities are “safe places” for them and corporations are tripping over themselves to show their support for them.

So, what pray tell, is she so afraid of?

Just for yucks, I left this comment on the Moron’s Blog.

Laurelin, how about you do some research, and that does include watching MMSNBC.

Senator Cruz, who you are afraid of (LOL), has NEVER said he opposes Gay Marriage as a matter of Law. His is a Constitutional Lawyer, unlike your fraud of a President Obama.

Ted Cruz believes that the subject of Gay Marriage is a States Rights issue. You should be “scared” that five Tyrants in Black Robes just eviscerated the Tenth Amendment without any rhyme or reason outside of their Partisanship. Those so called Unbiased Justices have no respect for the Constitution, that scares me

In case you aren’t aware, and it’s painfully obvious you aren’t, the States also have differing Laws regarding .Incestuous Marriage and Polygamous Marriage. While all States have Laws against Polygamy, Laws regarding Incestuous Marriage vary, just like Age of Consent and Age of Consent to Marry Laws.

With this so called ruling, how will those issues be resolved?

Since the SCOTUS Nationalized Gay Marriage, all those other Laws must also be Nationalized. Please don’t tell me you are one of those Gays that wants the door closed behind them now that they got their way.

I will assume you are not a Hypocrite and will support Incestuous and Polygamous Marriage with open arms.

BTW — Nobody cares who you love, spare us the Melodrama until you Educate yourself and present Facts in your Blog Post. Celebrating your Ignorance is no way to go through life.

Oh yeah, before you try the usual Liberal tactic to label me some kind of Hater, I have no problem with Gay Marriage. I just don’t like seeing the Tenth Amendment of the Constitution shredded to make you happy.

Here’s a little factoid for you. Less than Two Years ago, Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden and Barack Obama (your savior) ALL opposed Gay Marriage. Meantime, former V.P. Dick Cheney has supported Gay Marriage for Years. I will assume that you will be a little put off when you realize your Democrat Heroes were Haters while Republican V.P. was a supporter of your cause.

Gee, I think I’ll get my own Blog. Educating Liberals is fun and exciting.

“How do lesbians consummate a marriage?”

Perhaps it’s better if you don’t visualize that.
I was a professional counselor and had homosexual men and lesbians as patients, so I know the various “methods” of sex in these couples.

If you are married, just enjoy your female wife. If you aren’t married, enjoy the companionship of a female. Keep it Adam and Eve.

I’m assuming Cowboy Bob means you are a male. :o)
