this is not true
Be careful about passing on lies.
Many have found God because of his ministries.
His church thrives because many of the so called traditional churches have given up on society and only teach each other. Only accept each other, only feed each other.
Jesus was a radically transforming person.
You might have called him out for hanging with the people he did.
Joel Olsteen is not the problem.
Evangelism is the problem. People are not talking about the great things of God. They are talking about what other Christians should and should not be doing.
Of what benefit does this produce?
Show me proof of what you are saying. Then I will believe you.
Do you belong to his church? Do you attend the classes that go on at the church all week long?
“Many have found God because of his ministries.”
A god maybe.
Texas: this is not true...Be careful about passing on lies...Joel Olsteen is not the problem.
It's all true and more, Texas4ever. What isn't true is that Joel Olsteen has ever been the pastor of Lakewood Church. If you don't know his last name, can you be expected to accurately understand his teaching?
Allow me to point out 2 big errors in your comment.
1.) There is only 1 church and it is NOT “his” (joel’s) church.
The ‘Church’ is the body of The Lord Jesus and it is His Church. This is why Paul (telling Christians how the should act) says: “do not say I'm of Apollos or of Paul, For it is G-d that makes the seed grow.”
Which bring me to my second point....
2.) if you've ever read the New Testament then you would know 2/3 of it are simply letters. Letters to churches on how they should act. Further more, in Revelation 3, Jesus warns the church of His judgement because of heir deeds.
I'm assuming the “great things of God” you're referring to is “gods best” being rich and not content with what you have.
Paul actually instructs the church to be content and the 10th commandment says do not covet. Jesus warned in Matthew 13 about the “deciept of wealth” and even said you cannot serve mammon (money) and G-d. So no my friend, evangilsm is not the problem. The problem is actually the opposite. It is the lack thereof and a lack of conviction. Conviction of our sins... And do you know who bring that convictions???? The Holy Spirit. So if there is no conviction in the message you are hearing then the problem may be worse than simply the words your listening to. The benefit of this is keeping brothers and sisters accountable to Christ! All scripture is used for teaching AND rebuking! It's not used to spin it for your selfish desires.
