Obama has engineered an under the radar screen civil war in Iraq between the Oil Sates affiliated Sunni of of ISIS and Iranian dominated Shiite factions loyal to Maliki.
The majority of the Iraqi military is Sunni and the Iraqi leader, Maliki , is a Shiite who has been purging the Sunni Iraqis from the military and the government and replacing them with Iranian sympathizers and even outright Iranian agents since the United States left Iraq.
With Obama’s support, Maliki is actively building an alliance with the radical Mullahs of Iran and is working with Iran to turn Iraq into a Iranian/Shiite dominated country with the military help of Iran's Revolutionary Guards.
The Sunni military officers and troops who have been the backbone of the Iraqi military are voting with their feet to give as much of Sunni controlled regions of Iraq to to Sunni dominated ISIS along with their weapons. Even if they hate and fear ISIS, the Iraqi Sunnis hate and fear the Iranian dominated Shiite government more.

I don’t see any problem with it. It is wiser than fighting both sides when they are busy killing each other. Arm both sides, support both sides, encourage both sides, but make sure that they remain busy with each other.
