Living - as I do - in the real world, I have never heard of such a practice, and have no chance to participate in it. Other than to pay for it, of course.
LOL! I was going to say, if you live in CA, then you are participating whether you know it or not.
My brother is in that program, but hasn’t retired. My father is double dipping. I showed them the math, based on the number of people that CAN take advantage of it, on a spreadsheet.
The liability is 100’s of billions just on pensions - not including MediCAL. They just sort of look at me like, “If you had the advantage to take this deal, would you?”
I look at them and say, “I’d have a plan for going back to work if I had to.”
