Name recognition, generally likable (outside FR), cocky, and his pro-jobs/economy message hits home. In a nation in an 12-year economic pit, a guy like Trump resonates.
Glamor, brashness, bravado, hot wife, money and business sense will catch people’s eye.
But that’s surface stuff and he will need to show the ability to tackle serious international issues. If this was the 90s, I would say he was the front-runner.
