Always fried me as a working person, some years living in near mortal terror of any kind of an unexpected triple digit expense (some cases double) seeing the lying, lame, and lazy get stuff handed to them.

I know the feeling. I don't begrudge society helping people in need, I would not feel as bad helping them (as long as they are legal or born here) if the cars they showed were older or cheaper. I would not mind of they drove Chevies, Fords, Hyundais and so on, we all need to get around, but if they are that poor, the right thing to do is sell the BMW, Jags and so on and come down to a basic car.

A bit OT but still related, the thing that drives me nuts is government bailouts of banks and GM. First it should not be the government's job and second, if they bail them out for making bad decisions, then they could bail us out too if I may play Devil's Advocate for a sec.
