I personally think Detroit would have been a better choice anyway. The last time a republican won Michigan was when the convention was held in Detroit. It also would be a great chance to showcase the good that’s been done in Detroit since the GOP took over the state.
Things are kinda weird in Michigan these days. You have a former GOP chairman and current GOP vice chair both working on the Cruz campaign so it looks like they actually intend to compete this time around.
