Jeb Bush and the Briar Patch

Jeb Bush is everywhere. Jeb Bush is in New Hampshire. Jeb Bush is in South Carolina. Jeb Bush has lost weight. Jeb Bush speaks Spanish. Jeb Bush has raised $millions for his war chest. Jeb Bush leads in the Real Clear Politics poll. Jeb makes the news where he doesn’t even plan to show up, like Iowa’s Straw Poll. No doubt that he is the Democrat-media favorite. Why? Because a “moderate” Republican candidate is not electable — and they know it! Can you say Bob Dole, or John McCain, or Mitt Romney?

The last thing in the world the Hillary supporters, and some establishment Republicans, would wish for would be a Conservative Republican nominee. Why? Because such a candidate might just win!

So, the word now coming from the Demo camp is that the candidate they most fear would be Jeb Bush, and the candidate easiest to beat would be Ted Cruz. See the spin? Hoping to influence Republican decision making, their most favored Republican now becomes their “most feared.”

Remember the Aesop fable about Brer Rabbit and the briar patch? Brer Fox set a trap and caught Brer Rabbit. A jubilant Brer Fox exclaimed, “You’ve sassed me for the very last time. Now I wonder what I should do with you?” Brer Rabbit replied, “Drown me! Roast me! Hang me! Do whatever you please, only please, Brer Fox, please don’t throw me into the briar patch!” “The briar patch, eh?” said Brer Fox. “What a wonderful idea!”
