EPA decides that pothole full of water on your property just might be a wetland

And that gives them jurisdiction over it

No act of Congress is involved here, but since when is that significant when we’re talking about the Obama Administrative State? The Clean Water Act of 1986 gives the EPA authority to claim jurisdiction over wetlands, and the language in the act leaves a bit of room for interpretation concerning just what a wetland is.

You know what the Obama EPA will do with that, right? Wetlands are supposed to be protected because of their importance to ecosystems. That’s why the act talks in terms of water with a significant nexus to a navigable waterway. In other words, it’s not supposed to be an excuse for the EPA to grab control over your land just because there’s a little water leftover after a rain storm, or some standing water in a pothole.

But this is the age of Obama. Who cares what the law says? Not your friendly EPA:

Worrying about what the EPA is going to do by 2017 is like being a Frenchman in 1944 worrying about what Hilter is going to do in 1946.

All land that gets wet in the United States is subject to the clean water act. Therefore all life forms that need water to live are also subject to the clean water act. /s

No need for the sarcasm tag. That’s exactly what the Left has been after for decades.

The new wording of the EPA reg essentially makes the EPA into the super zoning board and permit office where every property owner and user will have to go to make any change to his property if there is or ever was any water on that property, including in the pipes and the refrigerator. Permits to do anything at all will be very expensive. This is a tremendous TAX scheme and wealth redistribution from the citizen to their overlords, the commissbureaucrats. Ultimately it will be used to control movement and medicine and everything else, and because it is the EPA will all be Constitutional because no one at all will be found to "have standing" to challenge it in the Courts.

and if any of the republicans running for office had ANY backbone- they would declare loudly that IF the EPA insists on draconian decisions like this, then big changes are coming and the EPA will cease to exist and be funded! To give the EPA fair warning that they will NOT tolerate this kind of overreach and that the EPA WILL BE dissolved IF they go through with htis

This is going to be interesting. Houston has a pothole parade and thousands of potholes. Given that we just had a huge flood throughout the area wonder if gay Demo mayor Porker will go along with calling them all wetland areas and refuse to fill any more.
