Sorry naps. I owe you some peanuts.

I'm glad you got a kick out it. I was only half way kidding.

Who paid whom?

What was the price of the tickets compared to what American fans pay?

That has nothing to do with attracting female viewers. It has to do with protecting quarterbacks, because a star quarterback is a money maker for any team.

Most of the other rules have to do with future lawsuits more than anything else. A sizeable portion of ex-NFLers are now either crippled or have scrambled brains. The league is trying to protect itself from future legal action.

Has zero to do with attracting female viewers.

because a star quarterback is a money maker for any team.

All players are by definition money makers for their team. Saying that by itself doesn't mean much. These endless extended protections go beyond QBs. No wedges on kick returns, no crackback blocks, no leveled helmets by RBs, etc.

A sizeable portion of ex-NFLers are now either crippled or have scrambled brains.

They got that way playing a game they knew was violent. The men playing now know the game is violent. They know they will sustain injuries that will plague them later in life. They have played the game for years and know it's violent. Have you noticed players quiting in droves over this issue recently. I havn't. They'll sign up later to sue, but they won't leave now?

Has zero to do with attracting female viewers.

The rule changes over the years and the general operating atmosphere of the league has everything, EVERYTHING, to do with getting women to watch. Men watch for the violence and their piece of the viewing pie is shrinking. Women watch for the glamor and the spectacle and their share of the viewing pie is growing. Women don't want to see injuries. They want to see leaping lords in pretty costumes. Female viewers are now the most important demographic for the NFL. Women are the only reason the NFL is growing. Covergirl is now a major NFL sponsor for crying out loud! Why is that?
