I worked across the highway from a National Guard Training camp comprised of several thousand acres. There were more than 50,000 soldiers from all branches of the military who trained there each year. It was a very intimidating sight watching those convoys roaring in and out, not to mention the almost constant barrage of artillary being detonated and fired in their training exercises. It took me a while to get used to the building shaking. I can imagine that it would be unsettling to see a convoy of that size in civilian areas.
Cruz and the governor were right to make inquiries and reassure the citizens they represent. I don’t know what this guys beef is.
Did you actually look at that article? It’s a scare-story about an artillery unit going to Ft. Sill for their monthly training.
Same thing my unit just did driving from Dallas down to Ft. Hood, though we’re a decent bit smaller than they are.
