With the famous statue of the Cardinals' great Baseball Hall of Fame hitter Stan Musial standing sentry in front of Busch Stadium, the U.S. women's national team is having a homecoming for more than just St. Louis natives Becky Sauerbrunn and Lori Chalupny.
The entire team seems to be relishing the prospect of playing a friendly on U.S. soil for the first time this year after twin friendlies in France and England followed by the 4-game Algarve Cup victory last month in Portugal to make the U.S. 4-1-1 so far in 2015.
As U.S. defender Kelley O'Hara said, "It was starting to feel like Europe was more the team's home turf." But coach Jill Ellis' side gets that chance to feel at home again against a spirited New Zealand side at Busch Stadium (live, FOX Sports 1, Saturday, 3:30 p.m. ET), where more than 32,000 tickets have been sold.
