In 1762 Irish Catholic soldiers, who were serving in the British Army stationed in New York City, organized the first St. Patricks Day Parade in the City.
They wanted to celebrate the life of St. Patrick and show their gratitude for his having brought the Catholic Faith to Ireland. From its very beginning, the parade was a religious celebration that included attendance at mass receiving Holy Communion and prayerful contemplation of the gift St. Patrick had given the Irish.
Over the centuries since 1762 the parade has become a major event in the lives of many people. Those who are not Irish Catholics have always been welcome to join the parade or watch it unfold, but they have always been asked to respect the religious purpose of the parade.
The Irish are a generous race of people. We will share what we have down to the last morsel. Nevertheless, what we do not own we cannot share. We Irish do not own the right to degrade a religious observance to satisfy anyones idea of how the St. Patricks Day Parade must be conducted. The parade is either a religious celebration of the contributions of a major Catholic saint; or it is nothing more than an Irish Day celebration. We adherent Catholics must be the ones to decide the nature of our own parade.
This year, against the will of adherent Catholics, we have seen the end of the New York St. Patricks Day Parade as a religious observance. The Parade Committee has seen fit to end the parade as a religious observance by allowing a group of Gays to march under their own banner. Those who do not understand why this signals the end of the parade as it was intended to be, need to consider that Gay people by definition promote active homosexuality which is therefore the promotion of a mortal sin. Thus what was a celebration of St. Patrick and the Catholic doctrines he taught is now a celebration of sin.
As Parade Grand Marshal, Timothy Cardinal Dolan the Arch Bishop of New York has assisted in the promotion of sin as a substitute for a celebration of our Catholic doctrines.
Based on the shameful actions of those who have given away something they dont own and degraded a religious celebration, the natural evolution of what has happened to the parade should be to change its name to the Irish Day Parade or better yet Irish Pride Day Parade. It should be scheduled on the second Monday of each March. That way there would be no pretense about what the day is really about and anyone who still has a job can get a new paid three day weekend to ski or take advantage of the Toyotathon HUGE Irish Day Sale.
My dad never worked a St. Patricks Day in his life; not even in the Depression when he didnt get paid and risked losing his job. He would be weeping to see what has been done to the St. Patricks Day Parade. Since hes not here anymore Ill be weeping for him.
The parade, like so much else in American life, has been fagged.
Since the fags are so intent on promoting and celebrating their abhorant life style in the face of the public, I wonder if it would be appropriate for someone to organize a parade for normal people or to include groups wearing “I Am Normal” attire at current events? To me, that would be equal protection in as much as they are doing nothing more than promoting their particular life style.
I smile and say Happy Saint Patrick’s Day to everyone I meet.
One more skull to litter the floor of Hell. What a good shepherd would do is advise Catholics that the parade was no longer a Catholic event, and call for every church to be open for a day of prayer for practicing sodomites to be liberated from their slavery to sin.
This is part of a description of William Federer’s book
SAINT PATRICK - THE REAL STORY OF HIS LIFE & TIME FROM TRAGEDY TO TRIUMPH
Federer is quite the historian and brings out historical facts that won’t be found in other history books. It might be a good idea for parade organizers and participants to read it.
St. Patrick of Ireland is one of the worlds most popular saints. An icon of the Irish and the reason we wear green on St. Patricks day, this influential saint is shrouded by myth and legend. There are many stories about St. Patrick, but the real story is much different than what we would imagine. He was not a leprechaun or an elf, nor did he find a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. What he did do brought something more valuable than gold into the lives of thousands.
St. Patrick was born in Britain around 389. As a teenager, he was captured during a raiding party and taken to Ireland as a slave to herd and tend sheep. Ireland at this time was a land of druids and pagans. St. Patrick learned the language and practices of the people who held him. But he turned to God during his captivity and became a devout Christian.
After a miraculous escape from Ireland around the age of 20, he was called back in a vision from God. He returned to the place of his captivity to preach the gospel. There he spent 40 years, converting all of Ireland to Christianity.
He spent his life building churches, living in poverty and enduring much suffering and hardship for the sake of Christ. Legend has it that St. Patrick used the shamrock to explain the Trinity, and it has been associated with him and the Irish ever since.
By his death in A.D. 461, Patrick had founded 300 churches and baptized 120,000 believers and his followers re-evangelized Europe! We have much to learn from the life of this humble, pious and passionate man.
Tell all of the homosexuals who want to overrun a St. Patricks day parade, that they are now officially on their own, and no god fearing Irish Catholic will have nothing to do with them, and will no longer sponsor or participate in their promotion of perversion.
Furthermore, I would tell the homosexuals to cease using any references to St. Patrick, the Irish, and the Catholics when organizing or promoting their perversion on display.
And if they want to push the issue, all I can say being of Irish descent, is the
last thing these homosexuals want to incur is the wrath of the Irish grudge.
Bumping this to the top. Let the excerpted version go unread.

Mexican Catholics have their saints, Italian, German, and Ethiopian Catholics have theirs, and, outside of a few ethnic enclaves, St Patricks' Day has a whole lot more to do with green beer, corned beef, and the Notre Dame leprechaun than with the man who likely rescued Christianity for Ireland and Europe.
(Growing up under threat of being pinched if I didn't wear green for the occasion failed to add any gravity to the celebration.)
It's been "Irish Day" for a long, long, time and out west if your father consistently failed to show up for work he'd be assumed to be somewhere getting sloppy drunk.
(The image of a bearded, beaded, and spangled chorus line mincing down the parade route does not add to daddy's image or that of the LBGTEtc. faction it claims to celebrate.)
PS: May I note that the same people now decrying the erosion of a parade given us by troops of an occupying army probably go apoplectic every time Protestants march in Northern Ireland.
I think you're right - the homos are just the last shovelful of dirt on the grave.
