Activists bristle at Hillary Clinton fundraising pleas

Constant solicitations for cash in the absence of an actual candidate aren’t sitting well.

In early November, with her party on the eve of an electoral walloping, Democrat Mary Tetreau had had enough. The Londonderry, New Hampshire activist was sick of the constant emails begging for money for a candidate who wasn’t even running for office yet.

When another plea landed in her inbox the day before the election, she unsubscribed.

“I’m not going to be ready for Hillary until she announces she’s running for president,” said Tetreau, a three-decade veteran of New Hampshire primary politics, who called Ready for Hillary’s early-and-often email approach “annoying.”

Three months later, Hillary Clinton remains officially undeclared, but her campaign-in-waiting’s emails continue to flood inboxes of Democratic activists in early voting states. Though it amounts to little more than a nuisance in the grand scheme of the 2016 election, it does point to a downside of Clinton’s strategy of staying out of the public eye while her supporters campaign on her behalf. Namely, that it could create Clinton fatigue among activists and fuel concerns that she’s taking the Democratic nomination for granted.

“I’ll be ready for Hillary when Hillary’s ready for Hillary,” said Bill Verge, a Democratic activist who played a key role in John Kerry’s 2004 New Hampshire campaign. Like Tetreau, Verge, who said he has been “inundated with emails daily,” counts himself a likely Clinton supporter — but one turned off by the aggressive fundraising on behalf of a candidate who appears intent on postponing an official entry into the race possibly until July.-snip-Tension over fundraising in Clinton’s political apparatus spilled out into the open this week when Clinton loyalist David Brock resigned from the board of the pro-Clinton Priorities USA.

The Clinton's got some racket going. And poor David Brock. Started out as a conservative, then began his descent into the darkside by crticizing Justice Thomas, then coming out of the closet and insinuating his former fellow travellers were "homophobic". Then became enamored with hilary and now apparently became disillusioned with her. Pitiful lost soul, isn't he?

Nothing's working out for Mr. Brock.

Well, at least she's being the authentic Hillary.

He really is a sad, pathetic figure.

Like a courtier who doesn't know whose ring to kiss.

And into Hitlery’s pocket.

She’ll raise as much money as she can and keep it. She won’t run.

Keep in mind that poor little Hilly and Bubba were "Dead Broke" not too long ago.

Why would she not run? She's a real-life version of Tracy Flick.

This is the only goal of her life. She probably doesn't even know why she wants to be POTUS at this point, but that doesn't mean it's not her sole motivation for getting out of bed in the morning.

Good image. It applies to many in DC. How else to explain Michelle's promotion as a smart fashion icon?

That's another illustration of the bizarro world leftists inhabit.

Could you imagine a media culture not dominated by cultural Marxists which portrayed the current FLOTUS as some sort of reincarnation of Audrey Hepburn?

It's absurd, but makes perfect sense to their hermetic world view.

She doesn’t have the stamina or intellect and she knows it.IMO

I wouldn’t be surprised if she runs, though.

Why has Hillary not been seen in public for so long? Plastic surgery recovery?

At this point leading up to the 2008 election cycle, she was already in the race. Why isn’t she in the race yet?

And no other democrats are in the race because its a self fulfilling prophecy that Hillary is inevitable.

Hillary was considered inevitable in 2008,but was taken down. What makes everybody think she is inevitable? She was inevitable before and was taken out.

Clinton's pseudo-campaign reminds me of a line from a song:

"Money for nothing, and the chicks for free."

Hitlary is saving her limited funds until the field has narrowed. Can’t waste that free money now can we?

The only things I can see stopping her at this point is some Paul Tsongas-like illness-and even then, I think her handlers would try to pull a Mel Carnahan-or a scandal so big that it would completely derail her campaign, a la John Edwards.
