“... fishing would be safer with a firearm..”
No, no, no... you hunt with a firearm.. you fish with dynamite.
A month ago I had a large mouth bass throw the lure back at me and it stuck in my lower lip. I have never been hurt while hunting.
Like I said...A moose once kissed my sister.............
Years ago, while Trout fishing I pulled in a nice big Brown and in taking the hook out poked my finger by accident. Ended up in the Emergency room with a very painful infection in my finger and had to have part of my fingernail removed.
There is a small single mountain overlooking my house and Jennifer Lopez is up there with binoculars watching my every move.
Death by Flying Asian Carp!
Well fish will bite you too if you’re careless in handling them, and pinfish - well named - can be tricky to handle when you’re attaching them to a hook, but almost no activity is risk free. I remember getting scratched by blackberry brambles while hunting and also gettig into some poison ivy. That seem to be on the same order as most fishing accidents.
There are boating fatalities every year around here in NH both on the lakes and especially in the Atlantic.
My father in laws best buddy(a sailor with 35 years experience)went out for one last drink in Camden, ME about 20 years back in August. he was found floating in the harbor the next morning. They figured he slipped trying to get into the dinghy and went under. He was 20’ from shore.
Great infographics at the link, thanks for posting.
Well fishing with dynamite can get away from you as can using an old railroad telephone with the leads hanging in the water. You start cranking that phone and the fish come floating up but try not to fall in the water while that phone is cranking. :-)
