Yea, I wasn’t arguing with you.

Exactly. Good description of how the process works (and unfortunately does not on occasion).

But to call it vaccinations “pseudo-science” is ridiculous, as you implied up-thread.

BANG! That shot (comment) was dead-center in the 10 ring! In other words, well said!

And without vaccinations, literally millions of people would die or be crippled in America from small pox, polio, etc.

Here is what that used to look like.

Is vaccination perfect? Nope. There are risks. But it beats the Hell out of the alternative...

Sorry, to be clear: You correctly (IMHO) implied the comment that “vaccination is pseudo-science” was ridiculous. You clearly did not imply that vaccination was pseudo-science.

IOW, I was agreeing with your statement. (My earlier comment could have been read either way.)

Sorry to hear that. Knew they missed their call on some of the strains. Did hit some of them, though, per my experience.

The CDC is like the rest of the fedgov: Less effective at doing their job in the Age of Obama than they used to be. Well, except for the parts used to oppress conservatives (e.g., the IRS). And even they are sucking at their actual job. Example: How much does Sharpton owe the fedgov? And what are they doing about it? Answer: Zilch.

There is something though....

I've worked in the medical field for many years...and I've met some Doctor's that are absolute idiots. And dangerous idiots at that....

Agreed. They destroyed one of the last government agencies that was exhibiting some form of competence and turned into a destructive arm of the state.

I grew up in a small town in northern michigan and went thru the whole spectrum of vaccines that were give out back in the '50s. Nobody died, nobody developed autism but unfortunately the polio vaccine came a little late since a couple friends came down with polio before we got innoculated.

Then there was basic training in 1969 where we got shots for stuff I had never heard of before. That was a particularly painful day for all of us.........LOL!

BUT WE ALL LIVED!

I have not had a flu shot since the year of the great H1N1 scare , which was incidentally the last time I actually contracted the flu. No shots, no flu since. This year every person I met who had the flu said they got their shots. I for one will never take another, instead I will continue to get plenty of rest, take vitamins and wash hands often and avoid the flu.

“The pharmaceutical corporation Eli Lilly and Company gave thiomersal the trade name Merthiolate. It has been used as a preservative in vaccines, immunoglobulin preparations, skin test antigens, antivenins, ophthalmic and nasal products, and tattoo inks.[3] Its use as a vaccine preservative was controversial, and it was phased out from routine childhood vaccines in the United States, the European Union, and a few other countries in response to popular fears.[4] The current scientific consensus is that no convincing scientific evidence supports these fears.[5][6]”

Yup.

“Muslim Outreach” NASA? Toast. A joke.

The IRS? A political tool of Obama and the rest of the left.

CDC? Lost most of its credibility.

US Military? Top ranks gutted and replaced with Obama drones. (Get below the General Staff, though, and they are still solid. Obama’s people are working on it, though.)

DHS? Not even worth further comment.

Exception re DHS: They are trying to do the same to the FBI, but have not completely succeeded yet. That said, I know a few FBI guys, and it’s getting bad. The ones who I know are retiring or going into private security.

Sure, but I would still take the medical advice of just about any doctor over “Random Dude on the Internet”.

Still, it’s always good to get a second opinion. I had a friend who went to the hospital with foot pain, a doctor told him it was gout, and just to change his diet. Well, after a few weeks of that with no change, he went to another hospital, and they told him he had a broken bone in his foot. How you miss that on an x-ray, I don’t know, but yeah, get a second opinion!

“BUT WE ALL LIVED!”

Well, the people you knew lived, but it’s true that with any vaccine, there will be a small percentage of bad reactions, and even deaths. There are just a whole lot more deaths without vaccinations, so the risk is usually worth it.

Merthiolate, I remember that stuff...

my folks had a little bottle of it in the medicine cabinet.

I think they used it on cuts.

IIRC it was reddish orange.
