Iowa caucus: 53% of Republicans, 81% of Democrats think Islam is peaceful

This shows the effectiveness of the constant barrage of media propaganda, the never-ending avalanche of articles and learned talking heads assuring us that when we see Muslims brandishing Qur’ans and screaming “Allahu akbar” as they kill Infidels, it doesn’t really have anything to do with Islam: “Fifty-three percent of likely Republican caucus participants and 81 percent of likely Democratic caucus participants said they believe Islam is inherently peaceful. Only 13 percent of likely Democratic caucus participants said they view Islam as inherently violent, compared with 39 percent of likely Republican caucus-goers.”

In other words, 53% of Republicans and 81% of Democrats have been brainwashed to deny what is painfully obvious, and the pollster is thrilled that “the majority do not damn the whole religion for the actions of a few.” But this, too, is just an Islamic supremacist talking point, one of many that was cooked up by Hamas-linked CAIR and its allies, and which by constant repetition has now entered the mainstream. In reality, the question of whether or not Islam is violent can only be answered by examining Islamic teachings, not the actions of a few or even many or most Muslims. This is because people when they act are motivated by all sorts of different things. The fact that a Muslim does something doesn’t make it Islamic.

If Islam has a doctrine of warfare against and subjugation of unbelievers, then it is great that many, or most, Muslims disregard or ignore that doctrine, but that doesn’t mean the doctrine itself doesn’t exist. And unfortunately, it does exist.

“Poll: Nearly 40% of Likely Republican Caucus-Goers Consider Islam Inherently Violent,” by Margaret Talev, Bloomberg, February 4, 2015 (thanks to Jerk Chicken):

Two out of five Republicans likely to participate in Iowa’s presidential caucuses say they are inclined to view Islam as an inherently violent religion that inspires brutality by its followers, according to a new Bloomberg Politics/Des Moines Register Iowa Poll.

Twice as many Democrats—along with a majority of Republicans—say they view the world’s second largest religion as inherently peaceful, the poll found.

The divisions, coming after the Charlie Hebdo killings in France and and the Islamic State’s beheadings of several Western prisoners, may shape the way White House hopefuls from both parties address Islamic militancy, both in terms of fighting threats abroad and balancing freedom of religion and expression with security concerns.

In the poll, conducted Jan. 26-29, 402 likely Republican caucus-goers and 401 likely Democratic caucus-goers were asked: “When it comes to the Islamic faith, which of the following is closer to your view?” They were given two choices: “Islam is an inherently violent religion, which leads its followers to violent acts” and “Islam is an inherently peaceful religion, but there are some who twist its teachings to justify violence.”

Fifty-three percent of likely Republican caucus participants and 81 percent of likely Democratic caucus participants said they believe Islam is inherently peaceful. Only 13 percent of likely Democratic caucus participants said they view Islam as inherently violent, compared with 39 percent of likely Republican caucus-goers. The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.9 percentage points.

Religion, age, and location were important factors in shaping respondents’ views. “There are four demographic groups in which the dominant opinion is that Islam is inherently violent: those who describe themselves as very conservative (62 percent), seniors (53 percent), those who live in rural areas (52 percent), and born-again Christians (51 percent),” said J. Ann Selzer, president of West Des Moines-based Selzer & Co., which conducted the poll. “Those are the constituencies that drive up the overall percentage among likely Republican caucus-goers.”

In either party, Selzer said, “the majority do not damn the whole religion for the actions of a few.” Still, among Republicans, “you have more than one in three that considers it a violent religion.”…

Maybe 53% or more think they are peaceful but that’s just on the surface. When the Mosques pass the collection plate, and 95% throw in their money and that money is funneled to the radicals, how do you count that?

But that’s not ‘true Islam’

Are the vastly majority Islamic countries ‘Islamic’? Saudi Arabia, for example. Apparently not. Apparently there’s some mythical version of Islam the left is convinced doesn’t present an existential threat to the West.

The majority of Americans are gullible imbeciles.

53% of republican likely CAUCUS participants.

81% of democrat likely CAUCUS participants.

It should be noted that the zealous adherents to one or the other of the country’s two political crime families are NOT representative of the People as a whole. Which is a problem in and of itself.

The most dangerous thing about Muslims is their silence over the fact of what their compatriots are doing all over the world.

It was a *peaceful* burn, a nice change from the usual *peaceful* beheadings and acid splashes on women who disobey. Bob

Did you know that dynamite was inherently non-destructive.....as long as the fuse isn’t lit?

I don’t care if 80 % of the Muslims are peaceful. It’s the remaining 20 % that wreak havoc across the world by blowing up people and buildings, lopping off heads of Christians, gang raping women, using innocent children to deliver bombs or grenades to kill soldiers, lying and infiltrating our lands, etc....so yeah I’d say they’re a real problem...

Revelation 13:18
Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

Mohammad is their so-called prophet. When you consider he was the Al Capone and Adolph Hitler of his day, as well as a homophobe, pedophile and misogynist, it's hard to fathom islam as a religion of peace. But reading the koran and hadith should remove any doubt.

These people need to listen to folks who know, folks who escaped Islam.

Two names come to mind -

Michael Youssef

This must be an OLD story. There were NO CAUCUSES this year,, there were Caucuses last year,, but no poll of this nature was taken. I know because I chaired my Caucus, and I would certainly remember something this outrageous.

I have a highly sensitive BS detector and the lights are flashing.

Even if as many as 99% are “peaceful”, that leaves about 12 million that we have to worry about. And if the 1% of muslims that are radicals are so non-muslim, why aren’t the other 99% doing anything to stop them?

Propaganda is more effective than actual daily proof on 53% of Republicans and 81% of Democrats.

It is a very scary thought that this much of society is so easily swayed by propaganda than doing a little research, reading or even equating all the evil islam has perpetrated since the 70's with the fact that maybe it teaches evil and violence. Just maybe we are being lied to when things do not add up with the propaganda??? How hard is it for people to actually do a little thinking for themselves?

The real problem with public education is that it has stopped teaching logic which demands things be questioned and thought about and taught Americans to be one of the easily led, unquestioning herd.
