10% hard flat tax. No deductions, credits, or loopholes.

All non-defense and foreign affairs federal spending goes back to the states.

Too much money in federal hands and too much spending.

There is a strong argument that income tax is involuntary servitude (a slave tax - effectively forcing one to involuntarily work for the government) and that the 16th Amendment was never legally ratified. The income tax allows government to meddle in our personal lives to an unconscionable degree and at a level our Founders did not contemplate.

If the 16th Amendment were to somehow be legally eliminated (even if by a state if a state court hearing proved it was not legitimately ratified), then talk about a clearly limited “consumption” tax (NO value-added tax or VAT - NO tax at each stage of production and distribution in the supply chain and NO government price fixing) might be sensible. A simple, low, fixed % sales tax at the end of the supply chain. No income tax “involuntary servitude”, no snooping and rooting around our personal lives and activities. Sounds good to me.

However, until the 16th Amendment is legally removed by the feds or any state(s), the best I can see is a low, flat income tax around 10%.

Yes we do. Democrats look for anything, anything at all that can be taxed for their social programs that get them elected. Every tax is a brake on the economy. Look how many Democrats are calling for an increase in the gas tax because the price is falling and actually stimulating the economy.

Regarding unconstitutional federal taxes, the states need to amend the Constitution with language from the following excerpt, the excerpt long ignored by federal lawmakers. In the excerpt Justice John Marshall had clarified constitutional limits on Congress’s power to lay taxes.
“Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States.” —Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.

RE:”The opposite, of course, is the case. Revenue-neutral tax reform masks the real problem — government spending. It shifts the debate from the amount of wealth the federal government confiscates from American taxpayers to the manner in which it confiscates such wealth.”

Can't we just borrow the $$$ instead of paying taxes to pay for it?

Young people can pay for it decades from now, and they don't care.

They elected Obama twice and think that Kim Kardashian is a great role model any day now,.

They will cheer when the SCOTUS announces a constitutional right to same sex marriage.

Let's cut the debt after I get my SS and medicare.
