Confirmed: Obama Watched NFL Playoffs Instead Of Going To Paris

January 12, 2015 Confirmed: Obama Watched NFL Playoffs Instead Of Going To Paris By Thomas Lifson You won’t find it in the American media, but the U.K. Daily Mail has obtained confirmation from an administration spokesman that President Obama spent much of yesterday watching the NFL Playoffs (as I speculated).

According to an administration official, President Obama spent part of his Sunday afternoon watching a National Football League game on television. In fairness, the playoffs took place after the rest of the world leaders had marched, along with U.S. representation that stopped at the assistant secretary of state level and an ambassador who was a bundler for Obama.

It looks to me as though Secretary of State Kerry may realize that his absence was a mistake. But at least he had an excuse: he was in India on official business, though with an executive version of the Boeing 757 at his disposal, he could have pleaded emergency business and departed for Paris. Instead, he said:

'As everybody knows, I have been here in India for a prior planned event,' he added.

He saw in TV Guide about the Cowboy Packers at 1 o’clock. He thought it was the sequel to Brokeback Mountain.

I am no Obama fan, but he did well not to show up in Paris.

The whole arm-in-arm walk-a-thon was nothing but a typical and senseless touchy-feely event that was totally meaningless and not worthy of the presence of a US president, not even the present one.

Anyone going to explain the value of that parade?

It was an orchestrated gimmick....all the VIPs had to work their way to a central point, then get into prioritized line situation. If you notice into the second and third row....lesser known but still 3-star political figures from around Europe. It looked good for TV, but I think it’s a publicity theme of marginal value.

It’s just more of pResident Hussein doing what he does best: alienating our allies, while standing with the muslims and jinxing sporting teams—all at the same time.

Well, maybe Barry was concerned about all the money it cost for him and the mrs. to go on their vacation to Hawaii.

“As everybody knows, I (John Do-You-Know-Who-I-Am Kerry) have been here in India for a prior planned event,

None of those other 40+ world leaders had pre-scheduled plans, right?

There is no way the O would ever put himself in a situation where he could be perceived as standing with the West against Islam. No way he’s going to “insult the prophet.” Insult Christians? Yes. Insult Jews? Yes. Insult Muslims - no way. He told us all that in his 2006 book, Audacity of Hope, in which he stated that he would always side with Islam against the West. He can have someone say afterwards that maybe someone high up should have been there, but that statement is only a footnote of a footnote of history.

Just like the little show that Dubya Bush put on with the megaphone at Ground Zero at the Twin Towers, just like the demonstrations of support around the world for the people who died in the towers, just like the twin blue beams of light that rose from the ground where the towers stood -- if I have to explain to you the value of those symbolic gestures, then I feel sorry for you.

Well, the politicians marching arm-in-arm was pretty much like that. It's symbolic, and it showed courage in the face of evil, because it was risky taking that little walk. No, it didn't kill a single damn Muslim terrorist, but it showed spirit of solidarity, however fleeting, between a lot of countries that normally don't have much nice to say about each other. It put "principle" -- freedom of speech -- above politics.

That, Sir, was the value of that parade.

And dammit, America should have been LEADING that parade, not ignoring it. WTF would the Founders of this Great Nation be doing, if not proudly leading that parade?

Our President, our Vice President, and our Secretary of State, should be ashamed to show their damned faces. They have disgraced us all.

John Madden should have been paid to do a public service commercial at half-time. It would have been an Open Spoken Letter to Obama, “For anybody using this ballgame as an excuse
to slack off from your job, stop slacking off and get your lazy ass to work Right Now! That’s right, I’m talking to YOU!”.

Sometimes you need a touchy feely event where people who probably hate each other can put on a good show. It was cool seeing what? 3 million people marching without burning stuff up. And getting along for awhile.

Evidently some other leader you wouldn't expect to play thought it was worthwhile. Like Putin at least sent a rep. Abbas (thought they were a rock group). The King of Jordan. Very decent of him, and they have taken in refugee Christians who lost everything because the whole thing got screwed up through no fault of theirs.

I didn't get to see the annual Muslim car burning this past New Year's. Did the media suppress it or did I miss something?

We know they will go back to their usual and let Muslims overrun their countries, and Hollande evidently hates the Jews or at least Netanyahu. They had better skeddadle to Israel but I don't know how Israel can assure safety to Jews and have so many concentrated in such a small geographical area. This not the first terrorism against them and won't be the last.

I am not Charlie though.
