Stephanie Miner, the Democratic Mayor of Syracuse, N.Y., appointed Mark D. Muhammad to the Syracuse city school board last week.
Muhammad is a minister in the Nation of Islam — a very wealthy, U.S.-based religious organization that mixes the tenets of Islam with notorious notions of black supremacy. The current leader of the Nation of Islam is Louis Farrakhan.
Muhammad, 54, will serve the remainder of the term to which commissioner Bill Bullen was elected until the next election in November, reports Post-Standardullen is leaving town.)
In addition to his role as a Nation of Islam minister, Muhammad is an adjunct professor at Syracuse University and an assistant communications professor at Onondaga Community College (also in Syracuse).
“Mark is a positive influence on our community and has been for many years,” Miner said in a statement obtained by the Post-Standard. “I am confident he will go on to do good work for the children and families of the school district.”
Muhammad, who has a Master’s degree in speech communication from Syracuse and an undergraduate degree from Cornell University, said he is eager to begin his school board duties.
“I am honored to serve the citizens of the city of Syracuse in this role and look forward to working with others who are dedicated to improving achievement for all students,” he said.
In late November 2014, Nation of Islam leader Farrakhan was the keynote speaker at a conference on slavery reparations for black Americans. The Nov. 22 conference, called the 2nd Annual Black United Summit International, occurred on the campus of taxpayer-funded Morgan State University.
Farrakhan’s keynote rant lasted over two hours. He urged retaliation for the Aug. 9 death of Michael Brown, a black man, at the hands of a white police officer.
“As long as they kill us and go to Wendy’s and have a burger and go to sleep, they’ll keep killing us,” the Nation of Islam leader fumed. “But when we die and they die, then soon we’re going to sit at a table and talk about it! We’re tired! We want some of this earth or we’ll tear this goddamn country up!”
The conference theme was “Re-Claim, Re-Pair, Re-Form, Re-Produce — REPARATIONS Now!”
Farrakhan, born Louis Eugene Wolcott and the son of two Caribbean immigrants, began his career not as a religious leader but as a calypso singer who used the name “The Charmer” (among others).
Though Farrakhan wasn’t a very successful musician, he has found a very lucrative career in radical, repugnant anti-Semitic politics.
“Some of you think that I’m just somebody who’s got something out for the Jewish people,” he said in a 2011 gem. “You’re stupid. Do you think I would waste my time if I did not think it was important for you to know Satan? My job is to pull the cover off of Satan so that he will never deceive you and the people of the world again.”
Back in 1984, Farrakhan described Adolf Hitler as “a very great man.”
The Jewish population in Syracuse is about 0.9 percent, according to Sperling’s Best Places.
The population of Muslims is about 1.4 percent.
This should go well...
Get God out of school + Christianity....then flood it with socialism...then inject a small amount of Islam into the wound and let’s see what happens...

Why Christians still have their children in ANY public school is beyond me. We took a major cut in our lifestyle so my wife (degree in nursing and psychiatry, music minor) could stay home and school our children personally. I know of several families who have given up lucrative careers and extravagant lifestyles so they could be hands on with their children.
One of those families is now running a church in Oregon and his son is his assistant Pastor. He thinks it was worth it.
My parents tightened their belts and sent me to parochial school in California for 8th grade, as 7th grade in a public junior high had been something of a disaster, even though I was in mentally gifted. Then we moved to Iowa, where public schools still had a lot of that 1950’s character (this was the mid 1970’s) and parochial wasn’t needed.
That’s the thing that is so overwhelmingly obvious about these so-called “leaders” that spout out statements that aren’t really researched...Hitler would have had Fara-crazy killed. They really think that just because they hate Jews they are alike and would have been welcomed by the Nazis...
Same mentality of the liberal and RINO - they think calling out “radical” Islam is differentiating between peaceful moslems and those that commit violent terrorist acts that they are welcomed by the moslem community...they aren’t and never will be...because the qu’ran calls us all non-believers infidels and therefore, we can be killed, sold, raped, or forced to submit...
It’s not my religious book that states this - its theirs!

Good on them.
We thought about both sides of that argument but my wife really wanted to home-school and she has had a blast doing it. On the other hand, I have had to take some rough jobs to keep the finances stable. God has been good but it has been very rough.
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.
Gotta get ‘em when they’re young.
