My condolences on your upcoming major discomfort. Yeah, socks wouldn’t even be on my list in that case, except I live a bit north of you, and socks are needed pretty much from October to May.
For my job I have to wear non-conductive safety shoes, and all arc flash resistant clothing. Unfortunately that includes socks.
Socks are badly designed and are in real need of some continuous improvement efforts. Seams? Why? Fortunately my feet don't sweat. If I'm not going out to work on live high voltages in the plant, I stay in my office sans socks, in favor of a pair of loafers.
