I'll add this: I'm not saying they wouldn't try a shoot-em-up attack, but if they do it will be in a place where they know they won't be shot back at.
In terms of the locale, or the type of target, I'll just say that oh, a shopping mall in say... Bartlesville, Oklahoma wouldn't be a good place to go shooting people...
I'd expect a different type of target, probably one that prohibits possession of firearms, especially one in a locale that's less friendly to firearms...
Yes, you can guess what they will do by their past behavior… which means everyone had better brace themselves..
And I whole heartily agree with your point on an attack taking place in a “Gun Free” zone.
The Paris attack was carefully planned out and executed – terrorists trying that here in place where people can carry would have a very good chance of humiliating failure on their part. [They don’t care about committing suicide, only that they can spread terror]
Terrorist trying that type of ‘shoot-em-up’ attack would only have limited success before people carrying would respond.
People need to keep these things in mind in deciding where to go and whether they ‘allow’ people to exercise their common sense civil rights.
