In the meantime the media and the FDA were flooded with tales of suicidal and homicidal violence committed by patients, including children, who had been taking Prozac. Faced with mounting pressure, the agency conducted a meta-analysis of 23 industry-sponsored RCT’s on pediatric patients for nine antidepressants: Prozac, Celexa, Zoloft, Remeron, Paxil, Effexor, Wellbutrin, Luvox, and Serzone.
The analysis concluded that these drugs were associated with a more than two-fold increase in the risk of suicidal thoughts and actions in children. Accordingly, on 16 September 2004, an FDA advisory committee voted 15 to 8 to include a black-box warning for all antidepressants on the increased risk of suicidality in children—the strongest sanction available to the FDA short of removing a drug from the market. The warning read, in part, “Antidepressants increased the risk compared to placebo of suicidal thinking and behavior (suicidality) in children, adolescents, and young adults in short-term studies of major depressive disorder and other psychiatric disorders.”

“Increased” is a vague term. Technically, so is “more than two-fold,” but I’ll give the benefit of the doubt that the rate of suicidal thought among Prozac takers is somewhere between double and 250% that of non-Prozac takers.
And THIS is the absolute genesis of the explosion of mass shootings in public places ad schools. Before these drugs, such shooting were extremely scarce. They almost NEVER happened in schools.
The overall crime rate has plummeted in past decades, but we are treated with these people who walk in and start killing everyone in the building.
The blame lies with these drugs, especially in children.
And at the exact moment these shootings happen, their answer is for me to disarm. No thanks.
Not just suicide - but violence - especially with children, for whom the drug has NEVER been tested for safety.
The mass shooters, right from the beginning, were on these
psychotropic drugs...
BIG MONEY motive? Yes but the real motive:
gun control.
Every time one of these ‘primed’ shooters ‘goes off’ - the Pres_ent and the rest of the gun-grabber cartel are, within hours, even before facts are known, beating the “GUN CONTROL” “NOW” drums.
Deliberate, one could surmise, program - using and killing citizens - mostly young people - to push their goal...

Or is it one of the government death panels that do “met-analysis” of a bunch of bad studies and come to a conclusion based on “GARBAGE IN GARBAGE OUT”?
Actually, the suicide rate is lower in people who are on treatment.
Most people getting anti depressants are already suicidal. But as you recover, there is a window where suicide risk is higher, because in severe depression you don't have the energy to kill yourself but as you start to recover you do.
And even before these medicines were around, we docs knew the suicide risk was higher during recovery phase.
what has changed is society...less family support, broken homes, and illicit drug taking. And now we see “suicide chic” where society insists suicide is ok or even a rational choice.
