Privilege is a new Cargo Cult
The concept of "Privilege" has been bouncing around in the back of my mind since I first heard of it. The concept is so ridiculous on the surface that I simply passed it off as race hustlers looking for a new revenue stream. However, it finally came to me: Privilege is a religion, a resurgence of the Cargo Cult of the South Pacific.
During WWII, primitive Melanesian tribesmen saw (mostly) white men bringing enormous quantities of manufactured materials, "Cargo," through their home areas. Lacking in any grounding in technology they imagined that the Cargo was from the gods and ancestors and that whites were stealing it with their magic. In attempt to divert their "fair share" of the Cargo back to themselves the cargo cultist tried to divert it back using sympathetic magic, such as constructing mock airstrips, airports, offices, and dining rooms, radios made of coconuts and straw, etc. Cultists staged "drills" and "marches" with sticks for rifles and use military-style insignia and national insignia painted on their bodies to make them look like soldiers, thereby treating the activities of Western military personnel as rituals to be performed for the purpose of attracting the cargo.
Fast forwarding to the current day we have an utterly failed culture mired in poverty, unemployment, and crime looking jealously at the relative prosperity of their neighbors. Rather than seeing the differences between them and their neighbors - high rates of illegitimacy, rejection of scholarship and learning, glorification of criminal behaviors - these people also imagine that neighbors, mostly White, but also Asian and Hispanic, have, somehow, used their magic to steal the "Privilege" that should have been theirs. Thus, the Cult of Privilege was created.
At this point, however, the Cult of Privilege takes a malignant turn. The cultists have been told repeatedly that they are victims and, rather than trying to draw the Privilege to themselves by imitating their neighbors (which might actually work!) they want coerce the Privilege from other races through violence and threats of violence. The cultists demand that their failed culture be endorsed, rather repaired or replaced. Worse, a priesthood of this cult has infiltrated our institutions of learning and is inflicting it on children in schools and universities.
In truth the "Privilege" of which some blacks and their enablers are so jealous is nothing but intact families, and the efforts of parents who actually care about their children's welfare and take steps secure it. It is the efforts of generations, one after another, to look after their descendents. This is something to be embraced, not rejected or "Checked."
The creatures telling us to "Check your Privilege" should be held in contempt. When found in official positions they should be expelled or otherwise rejected whites, blacks, Hispanics and Asians, alike. The culture inflicted on blacks by Liberalism is an utter failure, producing little other than misery, illegitimacy and crime. Accepting this concept of "Check your Privilege" allows blacks to continuing wallowing this failed culture and, worse, threatens to drag others into this pit.
Embrace your Privilege and thank your Parents.

"Check your privilege" should be replied to with "Check your entitlement".
The analogy doesn’t work. Cargo cults tried to emulate what had brought the cargo in the first place. The ‘check your privilege’ cult just wallows in misery and tries to punish success. They make no effort to better themselves by emulating what makes one successful.

Black lies matter.
I mentioned that.
I think has to do with contact and perception. The cultists have regular contact with the rest of us, and perceive us as weak or indulgent. They think that they can bully “Privilege” out of us.
They need to disabused of this notion.
They cultists would have to create their own “Privilege” by imitating the folks that already have it.
You know - marry the fathers of their children, raise them right, take an interest in their education, condemn and suppress crime, etc.
But right now, they think they can bully Privilege out of us. And they are getting help from the self-loathing morons in education.
That is where Privilege comes from - Dad goes to work and is married to the mother of his children. Together they raise their children right.

I agree - unlike the white privilege racket, the cargo cult didn’t ascribe the wealth and goodies that the whites enjoyed to simply their “whiteness” but to the particular “rituals “ (culture) that they employed.
I wonder how the cargo cultists explain the existence of poor white trash?

You all are missing the point.
The author is NOT saying “Privilege” is the same as the cargo cults,
but that it is a new kind of cargo cult.
However, the mistake the Privilege Cult is making is the same fundamental error that the Cargo Cult made.
This very point is made if read completely.
And there you have it!
"Climate Change" is a "cargo cult science".
