Do they have to be “Vietnemese Americans” for gosh sakes?! Asians are usually very proud to be just plain Americans.
Some of the teenagers like to be “Asians.” Most prefer to be “Vietnamese.” They are not excited about being lumped in with Arabs and Pakistanis.
