At best, I would consider porn’s role a fringe contributor. The main problem is the destruction of family and marriage as they have been traditionally defined.

Very true. It began with no-fault divorce and now we see how same sex marriages are also damaging to our society. And lets not forget the governments role is destroying marriage as they replace it with the Welfare State.

Lots of reasons why marriage is in trouble. But porn is a very valid contributor.

Porn could be having a negative effect on marital relationships, but it’s not keeping people from getting married.

No one seems to be able to say the truth out loud.

Traditional marriage is being deliberately and systematically crushed by those that despise everything that made America successful. It’s that simple.

“The main problem is the destruction of family and marriage as they have been traditionally defined.”

Absolutely the real reason.

Agreed, although pornography is readily available in part due to its legalization from the 1950s onward and instant online access. This was not the case prior to 1960 or so, when it was an underground, illegal trade everywhere, although in a few places like New Orleans or New York, the laws were not strictly enforced.

The major contributor to the decline in marriage is a culture and a government that does not respect the institution that has existed since the Christianization of Europe. With divorce laws and child custody arrangements as they currently exist, there is no financial incentive and many disincentives for men to get married. The feminist ideology is especially poisonous, as is the radical egalitarianism that pervades American and other Western societies.

Conservatives have gone down the same slippery slope as the rest of society. In the 2010s, conservatives who support equality of opportunity are to the left of 1930s socialists who advocated "living wages" for heads of households, who were overwhelmingly male. Twenty years ago, the thought of women in combat roles was anathema. Today, it is barely questioned, even in front line positions and on submarines.

No recovery will occur until such time as conservatives become true to their name, look at the longer time rather than the next election cycle, and stop advocating the positions of liberals 20 to 50 years ago.

Reasons people aren't getting married:

  1. destruction of family as defined

True.

Except for the part where porn is the embodiment of the destruction of family and marriage as they have been traditionally defined.
