This isn't another case of shaming-the-victim-into-silence. Dunham's story about being raped has been demonstrated to be provably false, and the accused has a viable libel case against her (see here and here).

Liberals really know how to sell books. There's apparently a market for writing about molesting your little sister and how some "Republican named Barry" raped you at Oberlin College. At the tune of an almost $4 million advance....
Anywho, Lena wrote about some guy named "Barry, a Republican" from Oberlin College, who she claimed raped her. And since the book came out a few months ago, Barry has asked Lena to clear his name, but alas, she has not...
Well, according to the sourcelink above, Barry is apparently lawyering up now. He's had to take time to raise the money for lawyer fees (they're expensive these days, in case you didn't know), and once he pays his lawyers, he's going to give any monies gained to non-profit organizations that aid sexual assault victims. So, who's benefiting the most financially here? Let's ponder that for a second, shall we Occupiers-who-hate-Republican-capitalists?
As someone who has people in my life very close to me who have experienced actual abuse (sexual and otherwise) with serious and crippling life-long ramifications, this is particularly infuriating to me.
I hope this goes forward, succeeds, and it costs Dunham every penny she made on her ill-conceived book.
Hopefully some of those pennies go to real victims whose pain she tried to co-opt for her own sick personal gain.

The woman causes fear, revulsion and digest. My immediate reaction would be to flee. What sentient being would want interaction with her, sexual or any other?

Barry’s primary offense appears to be that he welcomed Michelle Malkin to campus when she appeared to speak on the issue of phony race crime claims. Michelle, of course, spoke the truth, which is the sort of thing that makes liberals uncomfortable. And as we know, under the new rules anything that makes a liberal coed uncomfortable is classified as a sexual assault. So maybe that’s Lena’s confusion, or the reason why she chose to defame him.
Personally, I hope she loses a body part, through some tragic accident.
Not by anyone’s intentional act but, a true event that involves her only.
She doesn’t have the right to destroy another person’s dignity and pride, while concurrently robbing them of their good name.
No, that’s a different fake rape at UVa. In that one, the girl claimed she was brutally raped by seven men at a fraternity there, and that even her friends whom she told were more concerned with being invited to parties rather than her health. The reporter didn’t fact check most of her story, and almost every detail has been shown to be demonstrably false.
The new meme is that we must trust and believe every rape victim, because to not “support” them is very hateful.
They’re claiming that “Barry” was a pseudonym now. Real name Barack?
The only problem with that is none of the other details match up, so even if we had a “real” name - unless I’m mistaken - Breitbart didn’t find anyone even matching the description she gave in her book.
