The TV show What Would You Do has produced an episode of a pregnant women being forced by her boyfriend to have an abortion.

The show uses actors to portray real life circumstances to see how the public would react.

The interchange occurs inside a restaurant geared for the patrons to overhear the argument to catch their reactions on camera.

In the scenario, the pregnant actor tells her pretend boyfriend she is pregnant.

He gets irritated, accuses her of sleeping around and tells her she has to have an abortion, “You’re ending this pregnancy or I’m ending this relationship,” he insists.

As she sticks to her decision to not have an abortion, the actor playing her boyfriend abandons her in the restaurant and storms out.

A table of girls seated by the couple offers the crying pregnant teen a ride home telling her, “He’s not worth it….you should keep the baby.”

As they reset and do the act again, the patrons appear uncomfortable, “How’d you want me to responds yeah, I’m a daddy now?” the young man says loudly, “You wanna keep this baby? I’m going to show you how to be alone, this is what it feels like,” he says as he storms out of the building.

The pregnant actor sits alone crying until one man goes over to ask if the young pregnant woman is okay and needs a ride, “You don’t deserve that, you know,” he tells her.

She is invited to join he and his mom at their table where she tells them she is 16 and doesn’t want an abortion. Although the man’s mother tells her it will be hard to keep a baby at that age, the sympathetic man intervenes and says, “You don’t know that,” in an effort to be more comforting.

What Would You Do if you overheard this conversation in a public place?

I would hope that my wife and I would offer the girl as much support and biblical advice as possible.

But that kind of junk never seems to happen around me. Maybe I keep hoping some idiot guy will give me a chance to ruin his day and it shows to everyone around me.

Can’t stand that show or the host. Too many of the scenerios are so far out in left field they’d never happen.

There are places where the male actor wouldn’t get far from the restaurant, nor would his trying to explain being an actor help him much.

Wow, usually this show has Ultra-Liberal themes*, for example a Store refusing to sell a wedding gown because it was two girls, a waitress deriding a welfare mother, a mother stopping her son from buying a doll he wants, etc.

So I am very surprised

* I can't stand this show, but CNN HLN is on at work in the lunchroom

“You’re ending this pregnancy or I’m ending this relationship,”

Well then so be it! End it!

“What Would You Do if you overheard this conversation in a public place?”

Give her my card! (See tagline) But seriously, there is no reason for her to have an abortion these days. Every newborn that is born can be placed for adoption or there are plenty of Pregnancy Resource Centers (what we used to call Crisis Pregnancy Centers) around to help her if she wants to try to parent.

It’s it is too bad. But you know, I did a lot of stupid things at 16 and as a boy, I got lucky

She made the One mistake but then she could end the mistakes by doing the right thing.

If I heard the conversation, I would have a chat with the boy, and tell him to man-up, and accept responsibility for his actions. And if he refused to listen, I would tell him that if he is not ready for the consequences of unprotected sex, then he’s not ready for sex.

I agree. I have been no angel at any age of my life.

I did not mean to be judgmental of the girl but just wanted to point out that children are being faced with adult problems because they are encouraged in the culture and schools to participate in adult sexual activity. It’s a shame.

It’s good that she is drawing a line in the sand at killing the child she was not old enough to bring into the world. I hope she has decent parents who will help her. I used to give motherhood classes to young single mothers...what a mess. Children having children. That was the hardest (emotionally) service project I ever participated in. Being a mother is so selfless in unconditional love and children are the opposite. The children of children mostly suffer.
