Why take the risk? The troops can send over moto-mail, regular email, or mail a card or letter.
I personally don’t think THIS particular request by DoD and DHS was meant to demoralize the troops.
Veterans, their families and active duty troops and all Americans should all bear arms openly EVERYWHERE because we are at war.

The American Legion and Legion Sentinels at a special meeting on Sunday last decided upon the following measures for the Town:-
The immediate opening of Field Headquarters to be maintained on a 24-hour basis for the following purposes-
To serve as liaison agents between the citizens and duly constituted civil and military authorities.
To prevent activities and displays subversive to the American form of government.
To assist in the proper display of the American Flag.
To prevent injustice to any racial group because of baseless rumors or information not founded on fact.
To have available for any emergency a body of American citizens, trained and officered by men who believe in the duly constituted rights of every American Citizen, who will rigidly uphold the privileges of being an American but who will condemn and help destroy any and all activities seeking to undermine or weaken the government of the United States.
To the furtherance of this end we are forming within the Legion and Legion Sentinels a battalion of 300 men,
to be commanded by a major and divided into four companies with the necessary commanding officers and
non-commissioned personnel.
ALL OF THESE CITIZENS HAVE VOLUNTARILY AGREED TO WEAR DURING THIS PERIOD OF EMERGENCY THE SERVICE UNIFOIRM APPROVED BY THE LEGION POST.
All of these c i t i z e n s have voluntarily agreed to wear during this period of emergency

They know they have let in Isis over Obama’s open border and via a Muslim immigration push and are trying to close the door after the horses are out. Isis will target military personnel and their families.
At the same time, the US military has become rabidly anti-Christian and it’s a shame Christians must wonder if the actions are for persecution and demoralization.
