this news might be serving some purpose, and doing no real harm The Jihadis are smart enough to know that the SAS would be involved. They may be sending a message to potential western jihadi recruits, namely: " Travel to exotic Syria and Iraq on Jihad and get killed in the dead of night by the SAS"
It takes all the romance out of going on Jihad.

Yeah my first thought was that getting in the press will ramp up the fear factor even more and make the bad guys antsy. They’ll decided to make a move that will be to their disadvantage.
