- Do you think the slaying of 12-year-old Tamira Rice in Cleveland on the playground will receive the same response?

- This story is not prominent. Than indicative Ferguson? There's still before the real data were presented to the Grand Jury, the media have made their conclusion: the unfortunate unarmed teenager (although he was 18 years old) was killed by a monster, police shot in the back. In Cleveland, the situation is complicated, but it is extremely clear: the boy was holding a copy of military weapons, which, accordingly, should have a special identification red cap by American laws, which for some reason was absent. Next question is very simple: how could a police officer to assess the situation and act differently? If the weapon was in the hands of an adult, it would not cause any doubts. In general, it seems to me that what happened will not cause of resonance that we observe in Ferguson, though, of course, this case will be separated by commas media mention. Ferguson - a clear indication that the administration of the outgoing president, not him personally, and his party again grabs the racial question, every time as it is losing. In Missouri, where the tragedy occurred, from eight seats in the House of Representatives six in the last election took republican conservatives. In 2016 he was elected governor. Who is the candidate of the Democratic Party? Attorney of Missouri. This is only a political thing, and you can only sympathize with the family of Michael Brown. Parents first lost him when he appeared drives for drugs as a case of bad parenting, and it ten minutes before the slaying, as you know, he looted shops; then their son was killed in a clash with police, after that since August his name continues to be used as a banner of all this frenzied campaign against alleged racist conservatives.

- The family of the deceased is hoping for a retrial of the case, as it likely?

- Today, on a formal basis in the American online edition published all testimony and evidence that was presented to the Grand Jury. I read them, and although I'm not a lawyer by education, but people with knowledge of the common law, with whom I spoke, believe that there is no fish to catch. But what possible steps purely legal: federal attempt proceedings because the FBI from the start to spend their independent investigation, then, in theory, it could lead to federal charges. This is evidenced by US Attorney General Eric Holder. But the likelihood is that the court will deal with the matter is extremely small. There is another option: an attempt to prosecute police or the police department, it would be probably more correctly, as a civil lawsuit. But here again, the family's lawyer will need to prove that there is no double jeopardy. That makes it difficult. In my opinion, all the talk about the possibility of continuing consideration of this case at a legal level are politically motivated. And more stress if it will be parsed again, the complete details of life Michael Brown (and we already know that he was not such a good boy, how they try to present it) is very likely to further hurt the family. But, alas, they are pushing to take this step.

- For the head of the police promised $ 5,000. Do you think he will live and work?

- Of course, in the Fergusonit will be extremely difficult to work for him. In general, after rioters smashed a good half of the existing businesses there, the good citizens of all races and nationalities will try to go elsewhere, and Ferguson will be as a ghost town like Detroit. Left-liberal get-together smashed it to pieces. If then the black citizens will ask: "What happened to our city?" - They would have paid attention to all those left-wing activists who came to them and encouraged them to revolt.

- Many have criticized and criticized the police action as you evaluate them?

- If the crew who pursued Michael Brown and his friend was not alone, it is quite possible that it would cost without the use of lethal weapons, but because in this situation the officer appeared with a young man who was physically much stronger, one for one, he had no choice but to shoot. The procedure is such that in this case you need to shoot to kill, even if the person was unarmed as by Russian law. If, of course, Michael Brown threw up his hands and stood up on his knees, he would still be alive, and got only two months in prison as he stolen not so much in store. From the point of view of the case, the very officer behaved properly, in fact, he has the first time in his career when used the weapon. I have some questions to how the police responded to a report of a robbery, but let's leave it to the competent authorities, let them deal with it. I want to emphasize that this type of incident and the accompanying publicity always give rise to any changes. For example, now all sides recognize that it is time to introduce a law that the cops should have DVRs not only in cars, but also on the uniform, that there would be no questions about who has acted correctly and who is not.

It may be related to language, since I note that the original article, which is available through the link, and which is available in Russian, had to be translated, in order to post here, it contains, in whole in in part, a great many, at least in my opinion, subordinate clauses, as well as commas, which really break up the flow, of the article, and disturbs the point, which Dmitri, is making.

Thank you for posting this. Sad that you have to go to the media in Russia to get the truth. It’s ironic

It wasn’t investigated properly because it didn’t generate the predetermined correct answers.

In the case of a white cop shooting a black man there will always be “questions” because even Al Sharpton knows that cameras lie in racially interpretable matters.
