Yep...when Spielburg edited out the guns from the hands of federal agents on the re-release of “E.T.” I knew that the only way to watch original shows was bootleg/black market copies. They are out there.

Unlike Lucas, Spielberg changed course. The first DVD addition included the theatrical cut as a bonus disc. Now, the theatrical release is back to being the standard edition, and Spielberg has said he regrets tampering with it and has decided movies should remain as they are once released (I think fans of Close Encounters raise an eyebrow at that, but I’m not really familiar with their complaints).
