Bernard Cornwell (author of Sharpe) released a book recently on the Battle of Waterloo. Its a fantastic read, and I got is signed when he visited the Harrogate literary festival.

One of my favorite historical events. The 200th anniversary is in June!

“Give me night or give me Blücher!”

The astounding drama of that day never fails to fascinate me. There are certain pivotal points in history. I can only imagine that moment of uncertainty when it was clear that troops were about to arrive, but it was unclear as to whether they were commanded by Grouchy or Blücher.

Must re-watch my DVD of WATERLOO with Rod Steiger as Napoleon and Christopher Plumber as The Duke of Wellington.

Shucks, I might as well also watch my Russian Cinema Council RUSSIAN VERSION of WAR AND PEACE, all eight hours of it!

It makes the Henry Fonda version look like a Cliff’s Notes.

I’d like to see all historic battles similarly animated.
