My stepson ,actually my son as I raised him since he was 12 years old and love him as my own, is mixed race. He is Asian Indian and Mexican. At school one of his friends whom was black was jumped by a group of other blacks. They were beating the hell out of him. My son joined the fight to help his friend. He was punished for this.
I went to the principal for an explanation. The first thing we established was my sons description of the fight accurate. It was. He said that he should not have helped his friend. I asked him what a student that was being attacked should do. His explanation was he should try and block the blows but not fight. Nor should my son have helped defend his friend. I asked what would then happen. His explanation is that the police on campus would come and restore order.
I then asked the principal what would happen if I came across his desk and started to beat the hell out of him and how long it would take the cops to get to his office and what he would look like by the time the cops came to stop me. The principal said nothing but looked quite afraid. I told him my son did nothing wrong and walked out.
When I returned home I told my son he did nothing wrong and I was proud of him and would expect him to do the same thing if it happened in the future.

My son kicked their ass but unfortunately a teacher did take an accidental right hook as as my son was swinging at the punks that jumped his friend. The teacher was trying to break up the fight.
