The Republicans in 1929 were generally smarter than this bunch. I would be happy if they weren’t so darned clever and instead developed a back bone and some principles

I hope her lead holds, but I don't think it will. Her lead is only by 1300 votes, but they still have to count early votes and provisional ballots from one of the big dem counties. I think there are about 36000 ballots in that county?

NO, the VA Senate race has not been decided officially. They are doing county canvases.

I don’t think anyone originally expected the race to be this close, but I don’t know who at this point thinks Gillespie can overcome a 12,000 vote deficit. IIRC, George Allen in ‘06 conceded with a 7,000 vote deficit. But I suppose all the talk about R votes being ‘recalibrated’ to D votes in the Tidewater area makes Gillespie’s team think it’s worth looking into a recount.

Here is the link showing the outstanding ballots to be counted. Pima county is heavy dem and the one McSally has to worry about.

I hope she wins but with over 36K to count and only a 1300 vote lead it could flip. They ran against each other 2 yrs ago and she lost by 2k.
