I know a liberal in the medical community and she says that she understands this stuff and there is no way to catch ebola casully. 0% chance.

Well, I remind her that as an engineer, it is my opinion that airplanes are designed to fly and there are no theoretical reasons for them to crash. Therefore there is 0% chance of a crash. She didn’t like that very much.

And when the plane does not fly as expected, it is *always* due to some mechanical or human error, is it not?

We know how Ebola is spread, and we know how to prevent its spread. Lapses in proper protocol cause healthcare workers to get it. Prolonged direct contact without PPE causes people to get it.

Ebola is not spread by casual contact; to equate that to an airplane failure is like saying that it's completely possible for the elevator assembly to spontaneously fall off a fully maintained and inspected airplane that is sitting in a hangar. The physical characteristics of Ebola do not support the mechanisms of casual spread.

The Ebola virus, of course, is just as physical and subject to the laws of physics as an airplane.
