The Obama Ebola Policy favors risking the lives of our troops

Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel signed a new policy this week that requires all troops returning from West Africa be isolated on bases and not be permitted to see their families for 21 days. The new policy is tougher than Center for Disease Control guidelines. The new policy, “intended to provide a “safety valve,” was recommended by the Joint Chiefs of Staff as an assurance that the service members participating in Operation United Assistance and returning home won’t bring the Ebola virus to America.

The Joint Chiefs have 15 days to provide guidance on the quarantine of service members once they leave their Areas of Responsibility and 45 days to review the program to ensure it is working as intended. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin E. Dempsey noted that “American troops would be in West Africa for longer than the typical civilian health care worker, and in greater numbers.” The Joint Chiefs based their recommendations on science as well protection for the troops and their families from a possible pandemic.

About 1,100 troops are currently deployed in West Africa with plans to deploy an additional 2,800 troops to the region.

The impeachable offence is sending the troops in th first place.

After that the impeachable offence is not having the same policy for returning healthcare volunteers and barring visitors from the afflicted countries.

Isn't it interesting how the precautionary principle only applies to AGW/climate-change and nothing else, just like "choice" only applies to abortion and nothing else?

Its extremely dangerous for our troops, and pointless, but it is a risk Obolo is willing to take, brave “man” that he is.

The military has been relegated to its proper place in the world. No longer is it interested in defending the US.

Now it is tasked with feel good humanitarian endeavors.

The United States Kum-ba-yArmy.

Refusing to put in place a travel ban to protect the U.S. is the impeachable offense.

Somehow, the regime thinks it makes sense to quarantine the troops, who ostensibly had no contact with Ebola patients, yet medical personnel who actually associate with Ebola patients don’t have to be quarantined.

If a quarantine saves just one child's life, it's worth it.

Bring out your dead! The Dark Man cometh! Bring out your dead! The Dark Man cometh! Bring out your......

(Since all records of obama's past were lost in a tragic boating accident and fire, no one can be certain that the guy in the red circle isn't him...)

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

*sigh* Such is life, and death...

So what is it that you want us to think about that photo, that is relevant to this thread?

A normal person might think that putting one sick person in a tent with fifteen healthy people is a recipe for getting sixteen sick people.

A normal person might think about how the Spanish Influenza lanced through crowded barracks.

What do you think?

Yes it is, in Liberia, that should have been mentioned since the way it was posted gives the impression to some people that it is an isolation tent for American GIs, in Italy.
