Only my personal experience, but -

Many, many times on the subway and on the streets I would hear black women go off on their man (husband, boyfriend, neighbor) telling them to stop blaming the white man for their difficulties in life. They would say things like ‘nobody can keep you down but you’, and similar such things.

From what I’ve seen in my own small world, the black women are the ones who will change the culture, if anything. Certainly not black men like Al and Jesse.

I wonder what the voting split is between black women and black men? I know black women vote at a higher rate than black men. I would tend to think it follows the general trend where women of all groups pretty much tend to vote more liberally, but I could be wrong. Anyone know?
