Terry Thames’ Summary

Over 17 years of advocacy & legislative management and strategic communications experience — working for and with government entities, along with working in both the corporate & non-profit sectors.

Served collectively for 10 years as a key member of U.S. Senator Trent Lott’s staff in Washington, DC, including staffing him on the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee. Additionally, served as Senator Lott’s Legislative Assistant for appropriations, healthcare, labor, and education issues. In 1996, was named Special Assistant to Senate Majority Leader Lott managing his business outreach, constituent services, and public engagement.

After leaving Capitol Hill, worked with corporate trade associations inclusive of congressional and public affairs assignments at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and federal & public affairs work at America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP). Began work at AHIP as Federal Legislative Analyst and was subsequently promoted to Manager of External Communications. In 2005, named AHIP’s Managing Editor of ‘COVERAGE’ magazine – which chronicled the health insurance industry’s trends, innovations, and public policy for an estimated 1,300 member companies.

Returned to advocacy in 2006, as the Senior Legislative Associate for Public Policy and Government Affairs at the Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA). At JFNA, advocated for homeland security, transportation, and disaster relief appropriations, and monitored pandemic influenza and terrorism risk insurance issues. Prior to becoming a Partner at Total Spectrum in 2013, served as the Associate Director of Government Relations with the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). At USCCB, advocacy work focused on K-12 education funding, authorization for the “D.C. Opportunity Scholarship Program,” healthcare access & quality, labor-economics, housing, agriculture-nutrition, energy, and environmental legislative issues.

Interesting background.

Meanwhile her company says she’s been nowhere but she says she’s been to Liberia. Who’s lying and why?

“Returned to advocacy in 2006...advocated for... disaster relief appropriations, and monitored pandemic influenza and terrorism risk insurance issues. “

Someone who should have known better...

Healthcare lobbyist gets sick on a tour bus with military guys on it, right near the pentagon.

What’s a lobbyist doing on a tour bus, in a city that she probably been in numerous times?

Publicity stunt, to bring attention to healthcare issues?

Or worse; took ipecac and deliberately did it, knowing it would gridlock the Pentagon ?..... and in the meantime, hadji and his buddies advance their plans...
