Thomas Eric Duncan, the first person to be diagnosed in the United States with Ebola, is now reportedly taking an experimental drug that could improve his condition.
The drug is called Brincidofovir. It's an oral medicine developed by Chimerix Inc., of Durham, North Carolina. The antiviral drug is currently in its testing phase for several other types of viruses, some similar in nature to Ebola. Even though the drug has not yet been approved by the Food And Drug Administration, the FDA has a policy of sometimes granting emergency access to a drug on a case-by-case basis, if a patient faces death and there are no other viable options available.
This is certainly the case with Thomas Eric Duncan, who was downgraded to critical condition. Duncan arrived last month into the United States from Liberia, the nation hardest-hit by the Ebola outbreak. His story is one of a series of missteps.
First, Duncan should have never been allowed on a plane out of Liberia. He reportedly lied on the health screening in a Liberian airport while trying to board a plane to Brussels, Belgium. When asked if he had recently had contact with someone with Ebola, Duncan reportedly checked, "no," when it was later revealed that he had, in fact, carried a pregnant woman suffering from the later stages of Ebola. The woman died shortly thereafter....

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

yes it makes me sick.....there’s people out there denied care or an expensive treatment for a chance for a cure and yet this illegal just comes here and we’re treating him like some prince rather than the piece of monkey dodo that he is for lying his way here...

So now, the homeless can just go to the emergency clinic and claim they have ebola. That gives them free food and housing for 21 days.
I have a suspicion that the liberals are more interested in researching bioterrorism tactics to be used against conservatives than they are about actually containing this disease. Bilking the taxpayer out of money to do so is just icing on the cake for them.
Well, he died twice. That's why they have to try this third 'drug'. He's not too bad looking for an ebola zombie.
According to the article, this is the third type of experimental drug tried on an Ebola patient— the first being ZMapp (used on Dr. Brantly, Nancy Writebol, and the Brit Will Pooley), the second being Tekmira (which was used on Dr. Rick Sacra), and now this third one will be tried on Duncan.
They didn’t give three to Duncan, though that’s not to say they wouldn’t if they had all three to dispense.

Actually, its a great way to test progress on products in progress. Real, live, human “guinea” pigs for the guinea disease. It is only time before a pandemic comes around again. This ebola? Its a third world issue which is seeping out of its diaper.

Got to test the drugs somehow. Duncan is an easily accessible experimental subject.

I suspect they consider him a guinea pig and will pump anything into him just to see what happens. Perhaps he’ll be cured. Perhaps the stuff will kill him, but if he dies, it’s from Ebola.
He did die. But now he is undead. He will live or expire to fit the goals of the Ministry of Propaganda.
My mother takes thyroid and other meds that aren’t covered until next year because of some stupid insurance blip. She can’t afford the out of pocket cost. SO NICE that she suffers helplessly while an African can contract a disease, bring it over here, and get treatment worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.
